  1. GREAT HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL GAME! Both teams were punching each other in the mouth.. VA High - 3 Chilhowie - 0
  2. VA HIGH lost 3-1 to Roanoke Northside in 8 innings. Blew it! Had a 1-0 lead and it went to extra innings and the Vikings scored off VA HIGH's ACE to win it!

  4. [ QUOTE ] You are wrong. For some reason Va. Preps omitted the names of D.J. Simmons from Richlands, DeShawn Strickland of Magna Vista, and Allen Eccleston of Virginia High. They all made 1st team all-region. You can see the complete all-region team (including both division 3 and division 4 players) in the Dec 19th editions of both the Bluefield and Bristol papers. I am sure all other papers across the state had the complete listings also. [/ QUOTE ] Sounds good to me, I was only going by what I had seen. Looks like you cant depend on Va Preps to have their stuff right all the time. THANKS! 5. [ QUOTE ] there is no division 3 or 4 individual teams. there is a coaches team ( due in Jan. ) and the ap team done by sportswriters who have never seen half of the players on it. [/ QUOTE ] There was a Div. 3 All Region Team. Several Bearcats were on it. It came out the week after the Region IV Championships.
  6. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] How in the world does DJ Simmons get 1st team all state at DB and not even second team Region IV. I know it is probably totally different group voting...just kinda odd [/ QUOTE ] according to the bristol paper i read simmons made 1st team all-region...... [/ QUOTE ] Simmons may have made ALL REGION DIV. 3 but this is for the entire REGION IV. LITTLE DIFFERENT, both Divisions (3 & 4) are included. For example there are several Bearcats that made All Region for Divisions 3 but didnt make it for Region IV after all teams where included. Eggleston the RB from Va High was an All Region selection from Div. 3 but didnt make the cut here. There are others but that is just one example.

  9. [ QUOTE ] How does guys from VA High make ALL-REGION when thay get killed by everybody they play [/ QUOTE ] NO ONE KILLED VA HIGH except for Graham! GRAHAM KILLED THEM IN THE MUD! THAT WAS AN ASS WHIPPIN! haha The TAZEWELL game was 7-6 with about a minute left in the 3rd and then a couple of turnovers later it went from 7-6 to 34-6. Va High killed Honaker statically! Honkaer never crossed the 50 yard line until 6 minutes left in the 3rd Quarter but Va High turned it over too many times, and gave Honaker every oppoortunity in the world! Honaker took adavantage of it and deserved the win to be honest. Richlands beat Va High but they beat everyone didnt they 14-0! CONGRATS AGAIN BY THE WAY! So let's take them out of the equation shall we? I believe Tazwell gave up 61 points to Richlands! haha Tennessee High beat Va High and Tenn High is a good program. TN HIGH would beat probably all of the SWD except for Richlands. Too many biased people on here with no real knowledge of games or surrounding teams. You see what you wanna see with your SWD blinders on!

That's why playoffs are so great but thanks for your opinion Gman. ha-ha ... that's what forums are for huh? Some people get a kick outta seeing this stuff.

Those guys would have a hard time starting at TAZEWELL/RICHLANDS/GRAHAM/OR EVEN CARROLL COUNTY. [/ QUOTE ] haha Ask the coaches in Region IV about these guys! Shoot they voted on them for the spots they got! I would say these coaches from these schools TAZEWELL/RICHLANDS/GRAHAM/OR EVEN CARROLL COUNTY, as you suggested, would love to have them! White 6'4 225 is bing looked at by SEC & ACC schools Eccelston was a work horse and didn't have no where near the oline Tazewell, Graham or Richlands had ... not even close! Carter was a threat every time he touched the ball, why do you think richlands doubled him most of the time. He also held Fuller to 3-4 catches for 40 yards in the playoffs. Esposito was everywhere for Va High on defense. Messer could put the ball anywhere on the field when punting the ball and ran the option game very well. Outside of McCracken who else was a threat in Region IV at QB...no one! Stout played tough on defense all year and blocked 2-3 extra points and about 4-5 punts during the year. Before you down kids maybe you should do some research first before you do so. Va High had a good team the down fall was a lack of an Oline and youth. They will have 8-9 starters back on defense next year!
