  1. Gee-whiz!!!! Another paper mache schedule......I believe this one looks weaker than this years!!!! Maybe we can contact Mountain Mission and see if they have an opening.
  2. Looks like a Nerf top 7!!!!! No meat and potato's in this league!!!!! Except for the GreenWave....State Champion contender again this year!!!!!!
  3. Hate is such a strong word!!!! I "hate" no one!!!! I choose to not be a lemming and not believe every thing told to me. Would you say the Governor never lies? What about the News? What about your beloved source? Let me guess you are on these calls with the other teams I speak of when the deals are going down? I assure you I am a Blues fan. I will be the one drinking the purple Koolaid. Nothing personal just healthy debate. I will stop if your feelings are getting hurt!!!
  4. Beating a dead horse, now why did you go any get PETA involved in this discussion?
  5. Now thats one of the funniest post yet. Does that come with a trophy? Ever heard the term tunnel vision? Thats what a few posters have on this site. Why are you so afraid to call it like it is? Take the blinders off and you will see this is a very watered down schedule. If that doesnt work get a dog and a stick because you obviously have trouble seeing!!!!! Sorry for confusing this site as a forum for debate and not seeing this as your personal blog!!! Maybe I should get my eyes checked!!!!
  6. Oh......I do apologize for not understanding your math, but I speak about now (not yesteryear or the vision you have with your magical crystal ball). No, I'm not attempting some Jedi mind trick to induce a loss. Apparently you have not looked at the VHSL website that supplied the data for my post. VHSL has Union listed with 400 students. So, get on their hotline and tell them they have it all wrong. This schedule gives no one any idea the level of ability we have. Post season will bring light from what our regular season has prepaired us for!!!
  7. ThunderCloud here is a little food for thought. On the blues strength of schedule as of today, keep in mind most of the teams we play can only get better as the season carries out due to the fact most are at rock bottom. I provided the School, their enrollment, rank, and class (A, AA). Remember there are only 85 schools in AA and 91 in A. I love the blues, but desire a stronger litmus test than what we are playing. Hard to argue against fact, see below. We play only two teams in AA that are not in the bottom 9 out of 85 AA schools. Pulaski and Marion which are ranked 30th and 65th. Out of the A schools we play I only see 2 that will end up in the top 25 and that is Union and Honaker. The only reason Honaker may end up that high is the fact they also play a VERY WEAK schedule. Honaker with wins over Twin Valley, Lebanon, and bless their hearts Patrick Henry. So, tomorrow night after the game Purple Koolaid goes on sale at Walmart!!!!! Have fun and have a safe trip to and from the game tomorrow night and may the Blues come out with another victory!!!! Gate City 708 Rank 26 A Union 400 Rank 16 A Graham 531 Rank 25 A Pulaski 1,450 Rank 30 AA Patrick County 778 Rank 79 AA Honaker 390 Rank 12 A Marion 715 Rank 65 AA Carroll County 1,186 Rank 77 AA Abingdon 925 Rank 85 AA (Last place in AA) Tazewell 663 Rank 84 AA (Only team ranked worse Abingdon) Richlands 736 Rank 32 AA
  8. Patrick County AAA? Wow you better get off the Blue Koolaid!!!! You are wrong, beating larger teams gives you more points along with playing teams with a winning record. I pick up the hints from your post that playing Pulaski with their enrollment being above ours is not a good idea. That we should play teams with a more equall enrollment. Every team we play in regular season outside of our district games (and not all of these schools) and Pulaski have a much lower enrollment than Richlands. With that theory should the single A schools drop Richlands? The reason single A schools want to play us is not for trying to pick up a lucky win, its for the gate we bring in $'s!!! Oh, and its Mr. Dude.......LOL
  9. Clearly you are not through with it and had to give reference to my take on the scheduling and my "purple Koolaid" innuendo. Thanks for giving my post your faithfull attention. I'm having a glass of purple koolaid now in your honor for your devotion and clarification of why none of the powerhouse teams in an hour and a half distance of us want to add them to their schedule. But, weaker teams two hours out are willing to rise to the occasion. Make no mistake I love the Blues, but I do get rather tired of playing teams that year in and out we blow the doors off of. I think we have become prey to a 30 something consecutive "REGULAR SEASON" winning streak to lose sight of the bigger prize of a state championship. I prefer the quality of a winning record rather than the quanity of wins. Still trying to wrap my head around your comment "what you know verses what I think" and maybe another glass of the fine purple koolaid will help me understand. What AD would turn down a Richlands gate during these tight economic days? All of these schools I speak of must have deeper pockets than all of the single A schools we play, because the way you tell it is these are the only teams in a hundred mile area that want to play us. No hard feelings Ryan, but I'm not all giddy about next years schedule. The only Litmus test to this years schedule was Pulaski and we lost. Don't throw Union out there....take away the 3-4 turnovers and 150 yards in penalties and that should not have been a close game. I'm a fan and a graduate of Richlands, I just dont get all jolly beating up on weaker teams and I do understand some of those games we have to put on our schedule, but we can do a better job of getting some quality teams to play. Maybe you can set an example by trying a harder drink like Capri-sun and Richlands could follow by trying to get a stronger team like Science Hill on ourr schedule. No need to get your feelings hurt its only a healthy debate. Ryan, have a good afternoon and another glass of "PURPLE KOOLAID".
  10. Stop drinking the purple koolaide. Do you really believe East TN teams do not want to play Richlands? Really?............ Really? Truth is we don't want to play them!!!!!! Like I said before if Va high, gate city, lee and union can get those games, why can't we? Give a better answer than we have tried and Mance said they don't want to play us. Stay away from the purple koolaide.
  11. Richlands has tried to get eastern Tenn teams to play on their schedule is a fallacy. Richlands doesnt want to play these teams because of the outcome. If Gate City, Union, Lee and Virginia High can get games out of that area then why cant Richlands? Simple....outcome!!!!! The gate money is there for both teams. I understand you have your source, but don't believe everything your told. Unless your source can walk on water, Im not buying it!!!! My blood bleeds blue, but my eyes are not blind.
  12. Honaker is a middle of the road team. Played a very weak schedule up to this point, I may be wrong but have they played any team with a wining record? Blues should win this game even with turnovers and penalties!!!!! They have accomplished this feat 3 times already. They need to learn to play a better game or the post season could be short. Tell like it is and leave out all of the smoke and mirrors that Honaker is going to go in to Ernie Hicks and somehow find the one four leaf clover left on the turf and upset the Blues. I agree with the Clintwood Greenwave remark.......that would be a great game to watch. This week Richlands gives Honaker a pinch and wakes them up from their dream!!!! I for one thinks Richlands should play a stronger schedule.....they need to pick up a game from one of those East Tenn. schools.
  13. Has anyone ever seen a Bee try and fly into a Tornado? All I have to say is, I've watched it once about a year ago and it wasn't to pretty. Oh, by the way I've got their Queen in my empty Moonshine Jar.
  14. I expect Eric Mulkey's record to go double platinum, I hear his next CD set to be released in December 2008 will be a tribute to Grundy and it will have a "BLUES" sound to it.
  15. Come on GMAN it's bad enough that you have your girlfriend's picture on your fridge, but do you have to subject the rest of us with with her photo in every post? SWD is weak compared to other districts, point taken. Any given night some team could get lucky, you of all people should know this just look back at one of your post or your fridge! SWD you've earned your spot now play hard and hold your head high.
