im thoroughly impressed with the improvement of this group. they must be playing totally different from what i saw in the first princeton game in the christmas tourney and the graham game after that

anyone know if princeton is that bad or is james monroe that good? It could be either i guess because i believe those two played a close one in the holiday tourney last year, not sure though. But just judging by the score, things might get really ugly for Princeton tomorrow night

I agree that the hitting will be weak, at least at first. Defense will always be problem for BHS regardless of talent because of the lack of their own field, just see the last 3-6 years. I think the biggest hole for them to fill is catcher, where Lilly has the most varsity experience (and that was only one game). Pitching wise they are a little thin except for furrow, williams, and lyons. i truly believe that by the end of the year Gilbert will have gotten them organized and they will win their fourth sectional title in a row.

I just think its a shame Gilliard didnt leave five years ago lol. I would have loved to see what a real coach could do with the talented teams and players from 04-07

Hey Rocks, can you please quit the Cole hating now? And all the Blufied fans who are still downing him. I was at the Scott game and some idiots are still talking trash about the kid. The only numbers that matter is the record, 9-0. What will all these people say when he brings a title back to BHS? He will loved and adored by those same people that are still talking junk

I thought Gilbert did a really good job at Graham last year, the Blufield players are lucky to have him instead of that dumba** Hubbard. I hope he can keep those sectional titles streak alive with a far less talented team than BHS has had the past 6 or so years

I played for a coach that wasnt worth a crap in David Hubbard (Bluefield Baseball.) The team never stood up to him so to speak, but even he knew he was not well liked. But the players cant fold like that, they have to come together and give their best effort in spite of the poor coaching. That's what BHS baseball did the past 3 years which were the most successful in quite a while. I believe those players should respect the game and respect themselves and finish the season

The rest of the region has improved and the Gunnoe kid from summers co is supposed to be the real deal, but i still think that blufield has the talent to make it to charleston... again

yeah for sure graham lost alot.. yost, marrs, mccoy i think, their pitching is sub par as well i believe, and then the coaching too.. I would say it will be one of the traditional powers, Richlands, Abingdon maybe

I never saw it but there was a time when the coppinger had like 20 or 30 teams in it, alot of people have pulled out over conference issues and the fact that it always rains in the coppinger haha

And Rocks, I cannot believe you are downing Cole like that, he hasnt even played a game for the Beavers and you are already crushing him. I know that you are a true fan of Bluefield football and you will quit judging the position battle by which ones is your friend and which one came here from our rival
