I will say, I played Battlefield 2: Bad Company yesterday for the first time, and COD can take a seat as far as I'm concerned.

I still will go to my grave defending Call of Duty as the best COD game ever. The original for PC is easily the best.

There is no doubt they are good teams, but compared to the other side of the state they are average. Last year, in Single A, the best we had to offer lost by a COMBINED 50 points last season in Salem.

I guess I jumped on you for assuming that you thought Richlands should be #1. No, I haven't even seen a HS football game all season, but SWVA football as a whole (with the exception of Richlands, Christiansburg, and Eastern Montgomery) is downI have a feeling that SWVA will not be represented with a state championship AT ALL this season.

I'd favor the Thunder over anyone in the East.

Don't care about the NBA, but I will watch the Finals because thats when teams actually start to play a little defense. The Lakers will win the title because, frankly, Kobe Bryant is the best player in the league and no one has yet to stop him. The Heat won't win the Conference, and you heard it here first.

I don't like the rule. Helmet to helmet hits are part of the game. They obviously aren't doing it on purpose, it just happens. Same thing with a bad challenge in soccer. They aren't trying to break the guys leg, they are just trying to get the ball. These players are going for a tackled and if they just happen to hit helmet to helmet, why should it matter?

Agreed on Harvey. Played with him too and is a player. Pretty good shooter as well.

Galax is pretty good. We scrimmaged them last season near the start of the playoffs and beat them soundly. You won't stop Hash, but you can contain him. I played with him on the AAU circuit and the kid can flat out play. George is an athlete playing center/power forward IMO. The kid that can jump has no basketball experience, but is an amazing post presence. #3 was pretty good too and with Brown leading the troops, they are a real threat.

SWVA hasn't had a State Championship winner in D2 since Giles won it in '05 (maybe '06)? Eastern VA has dominated us all speed. Last year, Radford was by far the quickest team in the D2 in Region C and probably D2 (didn't see any games) but they were slow compared to Essex. See the Gretna/GC game. Speed, speed, speed. I feel that GW would have contained Gretna a little better that year, but still would have lost by some margin. Still, until a team gets some speed here in SWVA, they won't win a D2 state title.
