  1. [ QUOTE ] I'd prefer for Tech to play Oklahoma first and foremost, then WVU, and lastly Kansas. I don't believe that Tech would gain much from defeating a Kansas program that just burst onto the football scene. [/ QUOTE ] VT had better not overlook Kansas...they might have played a weak schedule, but they are dangerous.
  2. [ QUOTE ] Rose Bowl USC - Illinois Fiesta Oklahoma - WVU Orange Bowl Va. Tech - Kansas [/ QUOTE ] Hawaii - Georgia in the Sugar Bowl LSU - Ohio State in Championship game
  3. Rose Bowl USC - Illinois Fiesta Oklahoma - WVU Orange Bowl Va. Tech - Kansas
  4. BCS show on FOX right now...we will see in a moment what the verdict is going to be.
  5. [ QUOTE ] Well throw Kansas out, do u think Georgia should be in front of VT??..do u think Georgia, 10-2 should be in front of any COnference champion with that champion having only two lossess and those two losess coming from at the time the #2 team in the nation?? [/ QUOTE ] Once again because of strength of schedule I think Georgia should be ranked right where they are...#4, ahead of Va. Tech. However, an argument could be made for Va. Tech as well, I will agree with you on that...that's why we need some kind of freakin' playoff...a plus one, or something. Problem with that is, if these standings hold up, Va. Tech would also be left out of a plus one playoff as well. Why can't the NCAA football guys go by the template that the NCAA Basketball committee has, and start in December with a 64 team playoff??? It wouldn't be that hard, and the bowls could stay in place and play their part every year. I do see your point, 56, but strength of schedule for Georgia matters more to me than records.
  6. [ QUOTE ] LSU is as deserving, if not more so, than any of the other teams in position to play in the game. Honestly, I feel as if LSU is more deserving than Ohio State b/c LSU played such a difficult schedule from start to finish... [/ QUOTE ] Exactly. LSU lost 2 games, both in triple overtime to two strong SEC teams, regardless of their ranking. Arkansas has the probable Heisman winner in Darren McFadden, and Kentucky was on fire with their Heisman hopeful (at the time). Strength of schedule says it all.
  7. [ QUOTE ] It'll be EXTREMELY close. I think LSU will edge out Tech my only the slimmest margin. Virginia Tech will be #1 in the computers but the voters will keep them out of the national championship. [/ QUOTE ] That would be the right thing to do...LSU beat Va. Tech by 40. LSU played one of the toughest schedules in the nation. LSU lost 2 games, both in triple overtime. LSU deserves to be in the BCS Championship game.
  8. [ QUOTE ] I think it's bullshit myself, how do u put Georgia in the mix with those teams, all 4 of which are champions of Conferences, if anyone else in the top 5 it should be Kansas instead of Georgia, damn coaches must be on drugs or something. [/ QUOTE ] Wow...strong opinion there 56. I believe it's called "strength of schedule". You're suggesting Kansas over Georgia? Kansas is in a MUCH weaker conference than Georgia, and they played a weak non-conference schedule(and conference, for that matter). Georgia won their last 6 games and played a very tough SEC schedule. Next thing you know someone will suggest Hawaii should be in the BCS Championship game. Give strength of schedule the credit it deserves.
  9. I don't know a thing about Monticello, but I can read...looks like they can score some points, but they gave up some too.
  10. AP, USA Today, and ESPNU all agreed on the following: 1. Ohio State 2. LSU 3. Oklahoma 4. Georgia 5. Va. Tech There were 2 points separating Oklahoma and Georgia
  11. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=3138124 Here it is folks...read it and weep! AP Standings for Sunday Dec. 2 1. Ohio State 2. LSU 3. Oklahoma 4. Georgia 5. VT The BCS should follow suit!
  12. Bluefield cheated because they had better players! That's is just unfair. When it's that unbalanced in talent, the Beavers should have "loaned" the opposing team some of their players to keep them from crying all the way through Sunday!
  13. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] LSU lost to unranked Arkansas. They dont deserve a shot, Sorry, thats just how it is. I picked LSU to win it all at the beginning of the season but they are not as good as advertised. they did not impress me today either. Georgia is on fire. They are clicking right now and i guarantee that LSU did not want to face them. They have won 6 straight games including ones over Florida Kentucky and i believe Auburn. Not to mention a decent GT team. OSU is the team that deserves nothing. They play IAA Youngstown state (7-4), and not to mention Akron and Kent state. They also play Washington, a 4-8 team whose record actually makes them look better than they really are. OSUs biggest win came against a team that also lost to a IAA team. And most importantly, they did not play in a conference championship, which i believe they should. Lets not forget how unranked illinios came into town and beat OSU at home, in the next to last game of OSUs reg. season. UGA and VT both are on hot streaks, have beaten opponents, top 25 opponents, and all by double digits. Right now, they are the best 2 teams in the country with USC #3. [/ QUOTE ] Sorry, that's NOT just "how it is". LSU beat the SNOT out of VT...Tech was never even in the game. How can you rank them above LSU? Makes no sense. LSU lost to a good Arkansas team touting the probable Heisman winner, whether they were ranked or not, and a good Kentucky team, both in the SEC...both in OT (as I said, 6 ot's to be exact). Glen Dorsey and other seniors on the LSU team are injured (Dorsey because of an illegal chop block by Auburn). When they get healthy (around Jan. 7), LSU will dominate anyone in the country. I agree Georgia is on a roll, but they didn't even make it to the championship game in the SEC, so how in the world can you say Georgia is the best team in the SEC? That my friend is flawed thinking. Mark it down, LSU will be in the NC game, and they deserve it. [/ QUOTE ] But then again, how many chances does LSU deserve to get into the title game? They have had chances to keep their spot in the top 2 twice before, so I don't think they should have any more chances to reconcile their season. But the question that I can't answer is this: Which stat pulls more weight, the fact that Virginia Tech has only lost to two teams ranked higher than them (at the time, No. 2 LSU and No. 2 Boston College) or the fact that LSU beat Tech, despite a loss to a team ranked lower than them (at the time Kentucky No. 17) and an unranked Arkansas? [/ QUOTE ] The stat that matters most is the SEC champion LSU Tigers smoked the Gobblers...by 40!
  14. [ QUOTE ] Next BCS poll... 1-OSU 2-LSU 3-Georgia 4-VT That is if Oklahoma holds on against Misery... [/ QUOTE ] Oklahoma looked STRONG against Missouri. This year should prove to everyone that we need a playoff...but i doubt it will ever happen. Too much money in the way things are right now.
  15. [ QUOTE ] my predicted BCS top 3 rankings.. 1- Ohio State (even though I hate to say it) 2- LSU 3. VT [/ QUOTE ] My three are: 1. Ohio State 2. LSU 3. Georgia Georgia over Tech by strength of schedule.

  17. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I think it will be Ohio State and LSU. I can't see the poll voters putting Georgia or Kansas moving up because neither played for their conference championship. LSU would jump VT because they beat VT this year [/ QUOTE ] Gah, but LSU lost to (at the time) Kentucky who was 17th and Arkansas who wasn't ranked while Tech lost to two number 2's. But as of now, Tech isn't even being talked about. We'll see. [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] LSU deserves to be in the NC...they lost 2 games in OT (total of 6 ot's to be exact) and they won the SEC championship, the toughest conference in football.

  19. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Where in this post has any Richlands person said anything about looking past brookville..... [/ QUOTE ] Are you really that stupid??? Just read. Lots of talk about the "next" game against the winner of Monticello and Poquoson. That's what I would call looking past Brookville... [/ QUOTE ] The main thing is the players aren't looking past Brookville...fans and posters don't play the game, and have nothing to do with the outcome.
  20. [ QUOTE ] LOL..........some of you people kill me. Just because the ball finally bounced WVU's direction....you whine and say they are a second tier team.......That's a load of BS! Ask that SEC champ Georgia how second tier we are.....or maybe that SEC big boy GT....no not Tech. The Big East isn't losing the D-II teams......come on...Bama is supposed to be this great program and paid out the azz to get Saban. MSU is bowl eligible and we beat the crap out of them. Get over it.....They have planted themselves in the top 10 for a few years now and intend on staying there. I remember when it was just nice to be in the top 25. They have earned where they are and whether you like it or not.....they win out and they play for the NC. Yes there is a Santa Claus and no you don't get to go to the NC! LOL [/ QUOTE ] Georgia Tech is not in the SEC...they are in the ACC. LOL. And Bama is rebuilding after YEARS of probation...not expected to be great...YET! But they will be within the next 2 to 3 years.
  21. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] i dont think richlands line will be able to handle marion's line.they are better than people think.and its hard to beat a GOOD team twice in same season.marion wont make the same mistakes as they did in the first game.marion couldve won that game, but come up a little short.marion is well coached.i look for marion to pull the upset. MHS 21 RHS 20 good luck marion [/ QUOTE ] I was at that first Marion and Richlands game and it truly could've went either way...I hope you're right. [/ QUOTE ] Final: RHS 39 MHS 20 The last 2 TD's by Marion were scored on The RHS JV...the game wasn't close. 39-0 in 4th before the subs came in. RHS is finally peaking, and just at the right time.
  22. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I want a playoff too, but I didn't understand your logic. Are you saying WVU, Missouri, and Kansas aren't worthy to be in the championship game? [/ QUOTE ] WVU, Missouri, and Kansas do NOT deserve a shot at the national championsip. Just look at their schedules. A two loss SEC school would destroy all three of those schools. [/ QUOTE ] I agree the SEC is the strongest conference in the country, and I agree the schedules of these three aren't comparable to any other school in the SEC, but with the current system how else do you do it? If you go by strength of schedule alone, the top 5 would be SEC schools even after LSU's loss to Arkansas. (That may not be an entirely factual statement, but I am making a point) You can't exclude schools because their conference is weak if they go 12-0 or 11-1. That's still strong in most conferences. I'm just saying unless there is a playoff, nobody is ever going to be completely happy...the NC needs to be decided on the field. By the way, I think WVU can play with anybody on any given Saturday when they have their A game...same with LSU.
  23. [ QUOTE ] I have never been around a team, even an 0-10 team, that didn't want to play the next week when the season was over with... [/ QUOTE ] GMan, it really sounds like a good idea to me, and I would also like to see 32 teams included instead of just 16. Also, include the bowls as playoff games down the stretch and rotate them in order of importance from year to year, kind of like they do now. End the regular season this week, Week ending 11/24 (or third full week in November), have the conference playoffs the following week, then beginning first week in December start the playoffs...5 weeks later it's done...first or second week in January, championship game.
  24. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Well with the possibility of a WVU/Missouri or a WVU/Kansas title game, hopefully the BSC will be done away with and a playoff system will be implemented as soon as possible. Ridiculous. [/ QUOTE ] ??? [/ QUOTE ] I want a playoff too, but I didn't understand your logic. Are you saying WVU, Missouri, and Kansas aren't worthy to be in the championship game?
