  1. The Blues played their best game of the season Friday night, and if that intensity carries over RHS should win. However, if RHS has a letdown, or if there is a lack of focus, this one could be a trap game. I'm hoping...RHS 24 CC 14.
  2. I'm gonna say Graham 21 Abingdon 20 in a very hard fought game. Graham's ground game is impressive, and their defense is hard-hitting and quick. Abingdon will put up a good fight, but the G-Men are just too physical.
  3. [ QUOTE ] i forgot to mention, the official i wrote about about a few responses up on page, his hard feelings for Blfd came from HIS HS playing days and playing against Blfd and seein them win or whatever. Beavers have been around for a long time and dismantled alot of teams and some of those teams will have had todays officials on them and maybe soem of that carries over subconsciuosly and might cause nit-picking or phantom calls..i mean who knows?? but a conspiracy?? NO! [/ QUOTE ] That's a real shame for the kids who are playing presently...they certainly deserve better. I can't imagine any adult with character who choses to be an official being that dishonest. I would hate for people to view me as a cheater if I were an official, no matter what rival game I was calling. These guys need to be called out, if you know who they are, and they don't need to be allowed to officiate games in their immediate area.
  4. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Anyone remember the Bluefield-James Monroe game at Lindside a few years back when Bluefield had five TDs called back...still won the game something like 20-6 but all five TDs were called back on "phantom" penalties. [/ QUOTE ] Guys, if all this I've been reading is true, then someone needs to call for a serious investigation. I can't imagine this "conspiracy" against Bluefield and Graham be left without an inquiry of some sort. [/ QUOTE ] Maybe we can get those investigating the Hoover High mess to come up here and investigate it when, and if, they finish at Hoover. [/ QUOTE ] Propst (Hoover Coach) is definately on the hot seat, and the grade changing scandal investigation is still ongoing...I personally can't stand Propst or Hoover, so it will be fine with me if they all get fired. However, that has nothing to do with my question about officiating. Seriously, do you guys really think there is a conspiracy against the two Bluefield teams?

  6. [ QUOTE ] I love synchronized swimming! [/ QUOTE ] Now dammit that's FUNNY!!!
  7. [ QUOTE ] yeah cause my statement degraded you in such a bad way... it wasnt even a serious comment, yet your acting like what i said was the end of the world for you... [/ QUOTE ] Oh ok...never mind!
  8. [ QUOTE ] well im glad you got to go off on me for a comment. pretty sure the guy you quoted before said that stuff happens in every game, but whatever... glad your the champ on talking crap on this message board... [/ QUOTE ] I believe you're the one who attacked my post, not the other way around. I'm just defending what I said. Don't attack me if you can't take the criticism. I'm not trying to be the champ of talking crap, but I will defend myself if someone makes a statement like you did. Get over it.
  9. [ QUOTE ] pretty sure they can't...gman did the math the other day and i read over it but didn't have time to really absorb it, but Grundy wasn't listed...so i assume they are out. [/ QUOTE ] I'm going to state the obvious as well...this system sucks. Since Graham beat Richlands, shouldn't that count for something? I mean, I know it counts for "something", but I would think that Graham should be given the benefit. I would feel the same for the Blues if RHS had beaten Graham. Honestly, this is a very confusing system, and I know I don't understand it all, but couldn't something else much simpler be worked out?
  10. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] They didnt come close to getting back at Bluefield, if anything that game tonight the officials gave Bluefield more calls, Bluefield only had one penalty until 2 mins to go and that was for kicking the ball out of bounds. They lined up in the neutral zone the whole first half. Anyway I think Bluefield is a better team but it drives me nuts you all coming on here saying the officiating was bad and cheapening what those two teams did out there tonight. Kicker from Bluefield has nerves of steel great kick, #31 Bluefield and Matt Davis from Richlands both made nonfactors out of the two big play receivers just a great game all around. Some people decided before they left home that they were going to complain about the officials I think. [/ QUOTE ] here's the thing tho: the second touchdown rhs had wasn't in. both line judges held up the 3rd down sign, and it was the Back judge who made the call-they may have scored anyway, but not that time. there was a nasty pass interference on a ponder slant over the middle, and a worse late hit on will cole after ponder was knocked down..both weren't called. the ref's continually told RHS's line (all three numbers were in the 50's...im not giving specifics) that this was a football game, not wrestling because they slammed bowes all night, twisted legs, poked throats, etc...say it happens in all football games, but the refs warned them all night, yet never threw a flag. the RHS fumble on the 1 recovered by marcus patterson in the end zone was ruled on the 1, and that was an extremely bad call. holding by certain double digit recievers, near clips away from the play by unsuspecting beavers, all warner numerous times, never flagged. but the call on RHS for pass interference that gave bluefield 1st and 10 on the 30ish yd line was by far the right call. #6 was all over wassum from behind in the end zone. on pattersons INT, they called tripping at the 15 yard line, when the blocker simply stepped in front of the defender who was 5 yards away at the time, and the defender RAN INTO the blocker FROM BEHIND...yet it's a penalty on bluefield. however, had that been a touchdown, richlands would have had 2 minutes to score and got for the conversion...so it's almost a good bad call. officials might not have been in favor of either team, but many tornado calls went unflagged while the beaver's just couldn't catch a break...till right at the end when it counted. [/ QUOTE ] I can't believe all the crying...and over a VICTORY! You would think BHS had lost the game. OUCH, He twisted my leg...oooooie...he slammed me to the ground...that's not fair! Ref, he poked my throat. I'm gonna tell my mommy! Get a life, this is football, not syncronized swimming! [/ QUOTE ] Funny how you got your butt kicked by synchronized swimmers! [/ QUOTE ] Wow...I guess you told me off! That was a genius comment...I'll bet you are a pillar in your community, and a giant intellect obviously! Let me see if I can explain this to you in the simplest terms. I wasn't calling Bluefield Syncronized swimmers, I was stating the fact that football is not only a contact sport but a collision sport, and bad things can happen when two strong teams go after each other. Things like twisting legs, poking throats, punching, kicking...it happens in almost every game. So my point is, stop your crying about the "rough" play...it's freakin' football. Now do you understand? That's as simply as I know how to put it. If you can't understand that, then that's your problem!
  11. [ QUOTE ] BLFD 21 JM 10 JM has not played any teams like BLFD. This should be a slotter fest. I say there will purple splattered all over the new field, just another season spoiled by the Beavers!!! [/ QUOTE ] What the heck is a "slotter fest"? Do you mean slaughter? LOL

  13. [ QUOTE ] What a great football game. 2nd best game I have ever seen Bluefield participate in. Both teams came out to play tonight. Yea, the refs made some questionable calls and no-calls but lets give both teams what they deserve. Richlands was able to stop everything we threw...or ran at them. Great defensive scheme for them. I will be honest...when I saw us with single coverage against Fuller, I was a little worried. But Marcus and Chase both stepped up to guarding the boy and were able to shut him down pretty much. That catch by #12 was an amazing catch and I wasn't even mad afterword. Thanks to the Richlands' fans for not being hateful or disrespectful after or before the game. I went to Pizza Hut to eat and while I was leaving a group of Richlands fans wished the Beavers good luck and blessed us on our ride home. That meant a lot to me to see the sportsmanship from their fans after such a tough lose at home. Great games both teams and may God bless you throughout the rest of this season. [/ QUOTE ] AMEN!!!
  14. Sorry, I messed up that last post, but you get my point I hope.
  15. [ QUOTE ] Not so fast my endzone friend... there is no such thing as an "uncatchable ball" in high school football. That's true. The final interference penalty on RHS could have been called "uncatchable" as well, but there is no "uncatchable" rule in high school. So now what is your argument? [/ QUOTE ]
  16. [ QUOTE ] I am impressed how the Richlands crowd gets into the game!! You guys know how to do it, get LOUD when the other team has the ball, especially on 3rd down. [/ QUOTE ] Honestly, that's something that has been lacking all season. The crowd really rose to the occasion tonight! Tonight was a BIG game because of the talent that the Beavers have on their team. I'll be honest, I was nervous about this one, and after hearing how fast Bluefield was I had my doubts that RHS could hang with the Beavers. I'm proud to know the players for RHS had no doubts about being competitive, and almost pulled out a victory. Congrats to a really good Beaver football team.
  17. [ QUOTE ] The play calling for Bluefield was lacking tonight, especially in crucial situations. Like I said, I won't criticize too much though because we came out with the win. I must give the coaches credit for the adjustments made at halftime, one of which led to the Brooks TD run that put us up 7-6. Up to that point, Richlands had been blitzing the safety to whichever side Bluefield sent a player in motion. So the offense simply began running inside hand-offs to the opposite side to which the player went in motion. [/ QUOTE ] Good post! Bluefield made the adjustments necessary to combat the RHS defense...coaching on both sides was excellent I thought. Either team could have tried to get "crazy" and throw it downfield all night, but that wouldn't have worked for either team.
  18. [ QUOTE ] btw 'good game' lets move on and see those highlights! [/ QUOTE ] I agree
  19. [ QUOTE ] yeah but a holding call on a pass play right in front of the ref were the jersey is stretched 6-8 inches and doesnt get called?? thats bad, i know with interior lineman you could calll holding on every play but when its obvious, you have to call it!! and as for movin on, the blue neck nation should do that as well b/c some of us from Blfd get the 02 game slammed in our faces repeatedly at every opp! and read my posts before the game, i gave r-lands their due and respect [/ QUOTE ] I did read your posts...I read everyone's posts. I have no problem with what you said before the game, but the game is OVER...Bluefield WON...what is to be gained by complaining now, just as nothing was gained by RHS fans complaining about '02. It's pointless.
  20. [ QUOTE ] according to the announcers, there was atleast 3 PI no calls against r-lands, many holding no calls against r-lands, horrible spotting of the ball (both sides) and of course the 'phantom' tripping call?? after the INT for a TD?? frankly i cant beleive they called PI against r-lands in the 4th but based on the bluefield 'homer' announcers, the refs were by far biased against the beavers...take it up with them, i wasnt there [/ QUOTE ]Come on Tom...you can call holding on every play if you look for it, I'm sure you know that. Why don't we just say, "good game" and move on.
  21. I'll bet you couldn't get a needle up your butt until it was over though, huh...lol!
  22. It was a great game...Bluefield is not as invincible as you guys thought and RHS is not as bad as you guys thought. Bluefield's speed was for the most part a non-factor, with a few exceptions. RHS played a great defensive game. Predictions are like buttholes...everybody's got one. Now lets not cheapen this great game by bringing up officiating...this game was hard fought by both teams and the victor won by the skin of their teeth. Mighty Bluefield showed they are not overpowering when you hit 'em in the mouth all night. I'm proud of our boys...they played a great game.

    GHS/THS

This one was closer than I thought it would be. First half was 13-0. Is Tazewell getting better, or did Graham have a lapse and take this one lightly? Do you think playing on Saturday had a affect? Just curious.
  24. Has there been an injury update on Trent Green?
  25. [ QUOTE ] 'Naders only hope wears black and white stripes... Thats what I'm worried about. We need to put many points on the board early. [/ QUOTE ] Wow, already complaining about the refs...don't stoop to that level, surely you're better than that! Most of us at RHS realize that the Blues are going to have to play their best game of the year by far, and we recognize and give credit to Bluefield for their accomplishments so far this year, but the game still has to be played, and don't think for a minute RHS won't be ready. The roles have now been reversed...Richlands playing the spoiler? We will see on the 19th. It will be a great ballgame, and I doubt if the refs will decide the outcome!
