It is tonight, should have already started..anybody have updates or info?

Well I just got home from the tourny and heres my recap. It was my first time ever being at the State Wrestling Tourny and I didn't think I would really like because I never did get into the sport of wrestling...but it was cool to watch. Grundy and C-Burg was neck to neck in the standing for 1st the whole tourny and everybody was watching every match with Grundy and C-Burg wrestlers in it very closey and getting into everyone of them just about. Theres alot to look at why Grundy didn't finish 1st (they was ahead going into the finals.) Some will say Austin C (103 for Grundy) poor day on Friday not being able to win a match killed us because he didn't get us one point and was the Regional Champ, but what alot of people forget is he is just a freshman...he did great to make the Toury and have the year he did, he also got a rough draw in the brackets. Some will say if you just take one of the C-Burg transfer's off team then Grundy would have won...but what people forget is a starter or two got kicked off C-Burg team in the middle season for weed...we caught a break there. I do think that when Sterwart for Brooksville was wrestling in the Finals aganist Epperaly from Christanburg he got screwed in that match, and Grundy had a kid wrestling right after that in the Finals (tyler mc.) and if Sterwart would have won and if Tyler would have won Grundy would have beat C-Burg but it was impossible by points when the Brooksville kid lost and I wonder if Tyler knew that. Congrats to Ethan Owens on getting a gold medal, worked very hard for it. I think the most exciting match the whole weekend was Cody Rife Semi's match, went in too 2 or 3 overtimes. With Grundy only losing 2 starters they should be in the fight for 1st again next year.

I was there to witness it...it was great. He was one hard-working wrestler thru out highschool and finally got a gold medal. First time a Grundy wrestler had got one since 03.

Just got word it was canceled...i would say they moved it up to tomar night but im not for sure

It was schedule for tuesday night but it was cancel due to snow, they moved it to tonight but Buchanan County schools was closed yet again (another inch of snow came last night) so is it still on or did they move it up another day?

Josh Smith (Twin Valley) Chris Fleming (Haysi) Gavin Roe (Marion) McGee (Richlands) Hess (Grundy) I know Jacob Hess is a junior for Abingdon but there was another play that caught my eye when I saw them play, he was a 3 point shooter and I think his number was 12..have no clue what grade he is in but if he is a Senior then he should be put in that list. Also the guy from Council that broke the state record for most 3s in a game is pretty good..not for sure his name or number but im pretty sure he is either a junior or senior. Those are the best few that I have seen.

Grundy pulled off the upset tonight, not for sure on the final but I think Grundy won by 3.

C-burg must have did better in the conslation rounds to be ahead of Grundy right now because I counted Grundy having 7 in the finals and C-burg with 6. Pretty surprized to see that Jon Dot nor Ethan made the finals. A few intresting re-matches though tonight in the finals. At 112 Joey and Sean faced each other in Blacksburg a few weeks back and Joey pretty much owend him, see if Sean can make up for it. Also at 125 Street and Wilson, last week in the district finals Wilson pulled off the upset...I have a feeling there will be a different outcome in tonights match between the two.

I also disagree....Haysi just about beat Richlands once this year, Fleming is a beast. Also when Hurley's "big three" are on they are very tough to beat.

Grundy and Graham was suppose to have games tonight (jv girls and varsity girls at Graham and jv boys and varsity boys at Grundy) Are they still having it?

Buchanan is on a two hour delay...not really for sure why since we missed all the snow this weekend but ill take it (:

The snow was a total miss in Grundy this weekend...they called for 1 to 3 inches Thursday night, didnt see none of it...they called for 1 to 3 inches Friday night, didnt see none of it. Went across Shorts Gap tonight to go the Grundy/Richlands game tonight and the road was fine.

Why was that such a big deal? Second time I seen Richlands play and I figured he would get more pt as tall as he is.

I seen it coming back from the game, hope they was alright and I hope everybody made it back alright.

I just heard that there thinking about canceling because there giving out snow tonight? If so I find that a little duam, they have gave out snow the past two nights in Grundy and we haven't seen the first drop of it.

It suppose to take place tomorrow (Saturday) night. But I seen where Richlands had cancel there game tonight, there has been no snow in Buchanan County today, they gave it out for last night but it missed. Just checkin to see if it is still on for now.

Richlands was off tonight, both of Grundy's big men fouled out before 5 mins to go in the 4th. I thought Logan B was foulded when he took it the hole with time running out in overtime. Grundy plays Carrol at Grundy tomar (jv plays at Carrol) Grundy and Richlands play again on Saturday at Richlands

Im pretty sure that is a make up game on Wensday night no matter if thats on the schedule or not...Saturday's game (the one that got cancel) was going to be at Grundy and Wensday night is going to be at Grundy, so why would they schedule it twice at Grundy? Also last Friday (when they cancel it) they made the announcment at school "Games schedule for Saturday aganist Carrol are caneled, the jv teams will play at Carrol on Wensday night and the varsity teams will play at Grundy Wensday night."

I doubt it was conditioning, I don't know alot about wrestling but I have some friends on A team and I always hear about the morning runs and the pratice's and then going back the gym just to cut weghit and etc. Personally I would say its the level of competiton Grundy has seen compared to C-Burg. Grundy wrestled in Reno where they saw some great teams but besides that I don't think they have had any teams to go aganist that has C-Burg's talent. Hopefully it will be a little different when region and state roles around.

Yes it was cancel, The varsity teams play at Grundy on Wensday night and the jv teams play at Carroll on Wensday night.

It will take place this weekend (not for sure if it will be friday night or saturday.) The top 2 teams in the state (aa that is.) And the don't like each other at all. I don't know alot about wrestling but I know the Grundy wrestlers are really looking forward to this faceoff. Anybody who has results or info or a recap over the weekend please post it.
