  2. Marion beat Richlands 3-1 Friday in boys soccer.
  3. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Go Vols!! [/ QUOTE ] BOOOO!!! YOU'RE BANNED!!!! [/ QUOTE ] Come on now, show a little love lol.
  4. Oh I could imagine, I heard George Wythe has a very solid team. What was the score when the Maroons won earlier in the season?
  5. This would be a good move, especially for basketball.
  6. I hear ya man, I would say good luck if you were playing anybody but the Canes lol.
  7. Sorry, I should have noticed you are from Wytheville. You turn right off the ramp.
  8. [ QUOTE ] I know you get off the Seven Mile Ford exit right? [/ QUOTE ] Yes, you get off the Seven Mile Ford exit 39. If you are coming from Abingdon, when you get off the interstate, turn left. Go across the bridge past the interstate campground and then it will be on your right. It is in the front lawn of the Smyth County Vocational School. If you go under the rock bridge you have went too far. It is like 1/8 of a mile off the interstate, you can`t miss it.
  9. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Winning your class AA, Region 14, Section 12, Minor District 47.5, Subdivision Alpha Bravo, "state" championship isnt prestigious either. When youre the best, youre the best, no matter what anyone can say to you. I dont care if youre former high school in Rhode Island is famous winning 9 state titles or if your buddies high school from Texas has won 9 state titles, Id say theyre both great teams and have accomplished what a whole lot of other schools couldnt. [/ QUOTE ] The difference between VA and WV is basically this......With 6 divisions for football and about 310 schools each classification has around 52 schools. The last time I looked there were only about 120 high schools in the entire state of West Virginia. Which averages out to about 40 per classification. So virginia is a little larger in that respect. The major difference is this, or at least in southwest virginia. The largest division 3 team in Region IV is Richlands, with about 769 kids grades 9-12, the last three years they played for a state title they played Turner Ashby,Rockbridge, and Monticello. The enrollments for those schools were 1111(Turner Ashby), 1071(Rockbridge), and Monticello(1143). When Graham played for the title in 01, they had about 550 kids to Harrisonburg's 1200. We are playing larger schools with more athletes. Last time I checked I never saw Bluefield beat Morgantown,Mussleman,Woodrow Wilson,John Marshall or Riverside for a state title, which are all schools in that enrollment range. Bluefield beat Grafton (570), Wayne (547), and James Monroe (483). Now that is not a slam on Bluefield by any means. You can only play who they put in front of you. But, it also gives you no right to slam on Virginia schools either, especially the ones who have played you and know that if you were in virginia you would fare no better than we have. Sometimes the truth hurts. [/ QUOTE ] Actually, Marion is a bigger divison 3 region IV school than Richlands. This years attendance is a little over 800.
  10. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] abingdon beat graham Marion beat down Abingdon and yes I agree if Graham would have played to their potential they would have beat Abingdon as well. [/ QUOTE ] well if abingdon would have played to their potential they would have beat down marion [/ QUOTE ] I guess they never play to their potential. Marion has beat them five out the last seven years. You are right, when you don`t tackle that is not playing to your potential. It is also hard for your awesome passing game to get going when you are getting hammered by the blitz all game. [/ QUOTE ] too bad all the other teams abingdon beat didnt figure that out [/ QUOTE ] At least Marion, Honaker, and Richlands did.

  13. I agree, this is one sick individual to steal the deceased girl`s card and use it. There isn`t words to describe an individual like that.
  14. I think it`s pretty funny when the papers always predict Abingdon will beat Marion in football(like this year) and they never get it done. Marion has beat them five out of the last seven years. GMan, maybe you can answer a question for me. Marion beat Graham in football in the playoffs last year. Do you know when the last time Marion beat you guys before that? I know it has been quite some time.
  15. Tuesday, May 6, 2008 10:14 am EDT After 1,561 days, a young man finally takes off his Favre jersey By MJD David Witthoft, the youngster who had been wearing the same Brett Favre jersey every day for more than four years, has finally taken it off. The timing of Favre's retirement actually works out pretty well for the young fellow. He was turning 12, and as 12-year-olds often do, he was growing quickly. The jersey he was given on his 8th birthday barely covered his torso these days. And, being 12, he had also started to become concerned about his appearance, and as far as I know, the "snug, faded jersey that doesn't cover the belly button" look hadn't taken hold as a major fashion trend. At least not when employed every single day of the year. So the streak ends at 1,561 days, and I applaud the young man for his Favre enthusiasm. I can't say I love any player enough to wear his jersey every single day. Not until the Ryan Leaf comeback, anyway. What shirt got the call in place of the tattered jersey? A red Nike shirt. I have been unable to confirm reports that Aaron Rogers is visiting the Witthoft household every day, crying and begging the young man to wear an Aaron Rogers #12 jersey. The new "longest amount of time one man has been wearing the same jersey" streak belongs to Ricky Polaski of McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, who has been wearing a Ben Roethlisberger over a Journey t-shirt for approximately 77 hours. But that's only because he hasn't felt like showering or leaving his apartment in that time.
  16. Thanks, I`ll have to check it out when it is available.
  17. Does anyone know when the SWD will officially release the schedules for the 08 season?
