You need a reality check! Take a better look at that team. With the exception of a very few, the most un-athletic bunch of kids VHS has ever had! It's not Pauls system! It is what he has to work with! Without picking on players by name just not a very skilled bunch!

THS big!! VHS needs a new game plan!

VHS has the worst football team that I have seen in years! They for got to take thier panties off when they put there uniforms on!(QB cant throw, backs run straight up and down, dont understand to cut up field when hole opens, line cant block, punt returner want step up and return punts, LBs that want hit)so if AHS had of had anything they would have won. AHS just needs to drop the football program! I hope the rest of SWVA football is better than these two programs! Looking forward to watching 2 different teams next week. Will have to decide on what game to go! 1st game jitters maybe! The most exciting thing in Bristol last night was the fireworks and nascar truck parade!

Mr. Bradley was removed from the team. He did not play in the Jamboree. As before his attitude has finished his football season. I dont know if Wheeler will win with this bunch of kids but he will not put up with the trash like the former Coach. Enough said! New start with Ol' Coach. It will be different at VHS. Like someone posted its Paul's way or the highway. People in Bristol have said this for years about that kid and it always comes true.

Thurman and Cats take a spearing at the hands of the Mighty THS Vikings. THS 56 VHS 23. VHS needs a D-Fence and a D- Coach.

Your backfield will have a hayday with the front D-line of the Cats and Harmon(THS QB) will pick the DB's to death. The Stats could be huge for the Vikings! VHS has some good players but just cannot match up to their cross town rivials. Thurman and company are going to have to be real creative in this one!

THS crushes Cats. Thurman gets lesson on V-T game. Cats do not have the D-fense to stop Tallman and the Vikings. If Coach Stubbs wants to he can make it real ugly in Bristol. THS has to many weapons. Cats QB will get hurt by the THS D. Cats have no O-Line. THS by 3 touchdowns. That is if Stubby calls off the dogs.

Lance I agree on this one!! What happens when that injury comes that ends your HS sports? An it does happen! These kids need to be scholar athletes not dumb jocks. If a kid can understand offensive schemes he should be able to do basic school work. I guess we can just depend on the Govt. to take care of all the athletes who do not make it to college or pro ball. Just because you are a HS Stud does not make you a superstar at the next level. Look at the thugs we have in the NFL today. Ya! Let's sacrafice a childs education for his athletic prowess. Heck he might even make President one day! Just pass them along because he can run, jump, and throw better than anyone else.

Parents are not the problem at VHS. It is in their school ranks. They have problems. I know parents did not like Smith but if anyone knew him he brought his troubles on himself not with football but with his desire to show his rearend in handling other matters. Their Super and Ad are jokes. Their new principal is alright. They need to can the super and Ad. That would save the schoolsystem big bucks that they could use other places. Thurman will not have the great QB he had a Gretna but he will have some speed in the backfield. The O-line and the D is where he will struggle at. VHS kids are soft they do not like the work in weightroom. He will have to change this culture. VHS once had discipline under coaches such as Locke and Wheeler. They need to return to those ways. People say VHS baseball school but in years past they had a good football program. Thurman will have to deal with the lazy kids and I hate to say this but there is far too many of these kids in the VHS halls. They will not be beating down the doors of the weightroom. He will have to force them in. If he can change the culture he can make VHS winners. After watching some of VHS games the QB slot is killing them and their D in that 3-4 goal line stand has to change. Tough is a word they need to find and learn. You can teach technique but you cannot teach heart and desire.

You might be right! I talked with my friend in Bristol. Thurmon was in Bristol yesterday his son meet him and talked with him about being in the weightroom. He did not know if they have hired him or not but he definitely was in Bristol!

They are still taking applications as of tomorrow. No coach named yet. Will not be named until after their schoolboard meets on March 30th. Thurman has not been named as coach @ VHS. I can not even get someone in Bristol to acknowledge if they contacted him after hearing his named mentioned. They have gotten real tight lipped after the last process screw-up

Well, I missed this one on who won. VHS by 1. Falcons young but did a ok job. VHS pitching pretty good. Neither team burnt it up. VHS playing some young kids also.

No news just a lot of butt chewing over how things were handled in the last process. This time around they will do a better job. I think information will not be let out until they have a coach and contract signed. Mistakes were made, information got out that should not have, and I think from my sources in Bristol this has been corrected. I hope for the sake of the system it has. They need some integrity restored in the community. I think things will go well for the people of Bristol and the kids. I really believe that you will not find anyone posting information on the hire unless it is a contract in hand with signature. There may be speculation about coaches but if it happens again there will be heck to pay for someone. That is all the information I can get out of my brother. And CPF they still do not want Coach Marrs. He will be the last resort if they can not find anyone else. I dont think it is coaching ability that has hindered his chances. His personalilty did just not fit.

Change that you to they cant keep someone. I totally agree I have had this same conversation with my buddy. Especially the hiring process. Their whole system is screwed up! Maybe they could send their Super, AD and a teacher who has ties to Bluefield back so they could help out on the home front. Would you like them? And their Principal from Richlands who acts like a kid instead of a leader. A few of the people I know down there would like that. Kinda like some of the people up your way keeps trying to send Marrs down there. I am glad I live in between!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And my kids are not involved in needing a good coach!
