Sept. 25 Tazewell-Tazewell by 20+ Oct. 2 @ John Battle-Could go either way. Oct. 9 Carroll County-Dont know dont care. Oct. 16 Grundy-Grundy by 7. Like Quincy said.. Unless they were sandbagging a couple of weeks ago then yes they are.

Gate City has changed their helmets this year. No longer say Devils on the side. It has GC on both sides now.

LOL #66 was being man handled by Gate Citys JV team in the 2nd and 3rd Quarters. I told a friend of mine that by the way Abingdons players were acting during that scrimmage they would try and say had there been more time they would have won. I was there and saw Gate City pull their 1st string after going up 20 to 0 with over 6 minutes to go in the opening quarter. If Gare City had left their starters in the score would have been atleast 49 to 0 after two quarters if not more. The funny thing was that it was a freshman QB that played on GCs 2nd string to get a touchdown. Then the 3rd string played the 2nd and 3rd quarters against Abingdons 1st string. Abingdon is the worst team I have seen in years!

Definately not Abingdon this year. Hads to be the wourst team I have seen this year.

That would work. The name it currently has is the same as I have heard the GC vs PV game refered to.

You have to remember too that Gate City had 8 starters returning from last years defense and the other 3 had a lot of playing time last year too. I really dont think you will have much to worry about. Mance will have the O on track the rest of the way. Just beat PV in two weeks and I will be really happy!:D

Another thing in my opinion is Richlands should play more balanced. Seems like all they wanted to do was throw the deep ball in the second half. In a 3 point game they had all the time in the world to throw short passes and run the ball some. I think Mance will have the O going great though. Also in my opinion GC and Richlands play way to early in the season. This would be an even better game after the two have 4 or 5 games under their belts.

Looks nothing like last season. The game was not close last year. This year it was a nail biter. I dont look for Richlands to lose again untill the State Semis if then.

No they didnt. They lost to Gate City last year too. Richlands lost to GC in 02, 03, and 04 then they won 05, 06, and 07. Now GC has won 08, and 09 and if things go like they have the last 8 years GC should win next year too. :D At least I hope so anyways.:D But with the way things have worked out these two teams return almost their whole rosters for next year and will be the game of the year. Too bad it is at the beginning of the season. Would love to see this game moved to the middle of the season.

Same thing happens here in Scott County too. A lot of Rye Cove and Twin Springs people HATE Gate City. My wife is from Rye Cove and hated GC. I asked if she hated Gate City so much why marry a guy from Gate City? :D I almost have her turned though. Took her to a couple of Gate City games in the past and caught her clapping to the fight song once and when we lost to Gretna in the 07 finals she was down about it worse than I was.:D First game I ever took her to was the Richlands @ GC game in 04 I think. We won the game in overtime. She said she had never seen a crowd as big as that at a football game.

What theory?

Not trying to start anything. Just curious about how people from Richlands or their opponents really feel about the Spread Offense?

That is sad. The Spread might help win the Southwest District and Region but teams on the other end of the state will over match a team from this end running the Spread. I guess it really doesnt matter but Richlands was very tough playing Smashmouth ball. I still think you guys would be better suited in a multiple O. The Johnsons would be scary running the Option also.
