I don't think theres any doubt to this topic. Tazewell wins easily I will say Marion has some decent players but its a mystery as to how they are being used. Dateline might investigate to find out the Hurricane philosophy. With that being said I do know some good people in Marion who expected this to be around a 5-5 season.
Marion is the laughing stock when it comes to football in SWVA it doesn’t matter who the coach is the program is a dumpster fire and that’s not changing anytime soon
So now, 8 teams or however many were left on the schedule are left scrambling and all of those fans, kids, coaches just got screwed when the CORRECT thing to do was to tap out in early August when they KNEW the circumstances would not allow a full season. When teams make these decisions to "give it the ole college try," it's noble and we give them credit and I respect that, but these teams need to consider not just THEMSELVES, but the remaining opponents on their schedules when they make these decisions in early August.
The best argument for 8 man football is not just Team A having limited numbers/roster. The argument that is equally valid is the teams left on Team A's schedule that are left scrambling after Team A cancels the season 2 or 3 or 4 weeks in.
Come off that way though 🤷♂️ The kids bust there ass everyday, coaches do too, and the parents are super supportive with the booster club. I will agree on the lack of support. I don’t know if you know this or not but Marion is a basketball school!
I went to Marion K-12 I know Marion is known for being a basketball school I’ve went and watched a lot of talented guys over the years play at Marion but the athletic program at Marion is the worse it’s ever been their and needs a complete overhaul including basketball
Man why are you always downing the Canes, you do understand these are just kids going out and doing the best they can do right? They can not help the cards they're dealt the most important thing is that they represent Marion each game the best they can.
I’m not downing the kids it’s the school that doesn’t give a crap about athletics and until that changes Marion will always be down
