Soid defense but I don't think the best in 6 years. It really surprised me that Union got that many yds running the football. To be honest I thought our Offense looked better than our Defense did last week. Which Richlands is notorius for not doing to well against the offense of teams like Union,Pulaski,CC, Poq,Turner Ashby,CS last season, see the similarities...........

People think just b/c the Blues are dropping that means a STATE run every year. Its just not going to happen. At some point you will have a rebuilding year or just alittle bit less of talent. Case in point this year, the Blues are young, solid football team but not like the up by 40 points at halftime team. You can't go 14-0 year in and year out.

I think you hit the nail on the head about winning. Everyone has got so used to winning they have forgot what its like to be in a close game or how to lose. Its almost like fans are just thinking, oh they will win no problem. You can't win every game every year, its just not going to happen. Blues fans are 10 times different when it comes playoff time than they are in regular season. They have molded into that cause regular season games for quite a few years have just seemed like tune up games and the real season begins with the playoffs.

Any thoughts...........Predictions Richlands pulled off a close one at Union last season are we in for another close one at Ernie Hicks? I look for another close game with Richlands pulling out with the victory. Richlands 21 Union 14 I predicted only 7 point advantage

I gotta watch myself to be honest, I am used to the Blues winning big. I would have to look back at some of my post but I thought I predicted the Richlands-Union game closer than that. I will def. have a closer pick for Pulaski game not sure the Blues can handle those guys this year. Who knows Richlands may only beat gmen by 1 but I like 14 to 20. Who cares as long as we get the W, win by 1 or 100.

I think the Blues win by 14+ (if we get rid of the fumbleitis and pens). However Union moved the ball on us and I not going to say that Graham won't be able to move the ball but feel the Gmen will not score more than 14 points. If we hold Gmen to 14 I like our chances of winning by 14 to 20 points. Baker looked 100% better last week than when I seen him in the Bassett game. If he continues to improve by ends season he will be a very good QB, for us anyway.

I agree. Cut out the penalties and cut out the turnovers and you have a team that is improving. I also agree without the penalties and turnovers the Union game was won by 14 and not 2.

This won't be a blowout like it has been. With that said if Richlands stops all the turnovers and cuts down on the pen's don't see Graham any closer than 14 at the end of the game. I could be wrong only time will tell.

Anybody know how many starters on offense and defense for Richlands are seniors?

No GW scrimed Richlands this year but I did not go. I think we beat them 17-0 in that scrim but I think its hard to go by srims.

So in other words, they pounded Beaver all night:)

Thought GW was down some this season compared to last year? I have no idea just wondering.

I expect a close game. Didn't Union have over 400yds on the ground last week? Was this due to a great ground attack and/or a poor defense by Lee?

Im gonna stick with Richlands as far as program and a decade of history. Richalnds is down this season compared to recent history but still a solid football team that should be at worst 8-2 at end of regular season.

Guys GC can't be that bad...........

Personally I thought the passing looked way off and thats what we needed to work on. Mance didn't show really anything against Bassett mainly up the gut run plays and a few pass plays and thats it. By years end this will be a good football team just need to get better each week. With the style of football we will be playing this year I just don't look for many blow outs.

I look for Richlands to win but not by alot. I think this year the Blues will be in more games than people are custom to (everyone is use to being up by 30 or 40 at halftime). This team will grow and get better. I think we have a solid team but not as flashy as we have been.

Funny how people turn that into me saying we are going to have a 10-0 season. I said WHO KNOWS could be 10-0, 7-3, 5-5 NOBODY KNOWS YET!! I just think we will have a quality team considering history and the coaching staff we got.

Hibernation was too long, im ready for some football. Good football or bad football as long as we have football. How do you think the new coach will turn out? Hopefully he will be there awhile, thats what you guys need just someone that can be around for awhile and have a chance to build something. This is probably the first true time in a long time that Im not sure what the Blues are going to have. I no we will have a quality team but thats all I can expect.

I think what it is, is that with the program Richlands has everyone expects them to have a quality team. Not speaking for everyone else but I feel that we will field a quality team but not sure how good we will be this year. We lost alot of talent so who knows how the younger guys will step up. Could be a 10-0 season or a 7-3 season just will have to wait and see. In any case, just hope that history keeps repeating itself.
