22 is a lot of points if that's his average especially considering how many steals he gets on defense and the ball pressure he can apply.
I ended up seeing in the paper he's average 16. Little off of my part. I wish we had a better way of keeping stats instead of hoping to come across it in the paper.
Markelle Ray put up 34 against Central a couple nights ago. I think Markelle gets player of the year in the SWD, especially if they beat GC tonight. I thought he was averaging the most points in the SWD with 22. Could be wrong on that stat. Reece is a special talent. Will probably get slighted being a sophomore.
Well this Supreme Court case will be interesting. Would this ruling only apply to the primary ballots or would it also include the ballot in November?
Regardless this will be a very interesting decision. If the Supreme Court rules against him I wonder what will happen across the country. I'm sure many many riots will take place all over the nation.
I wonder if she’s waiting for the SC primary on the 24th since she’s a former governor. I’d say if she wins SC she may stay on a bit longer. If not I bet she’ll drop out quickly after.
Yes they’ll use the results of the district tournament to determine the seeding for the region tournament. But how will they determine the seeding for the district tourney bc that’s determined by the district record.
If I'm not mistaken they'll have a tiebreaker game at a neutral site to decide the 1 seed and host for SWD Semis/Finals
Any news on the kid from VA High that got a double technical at Tazewell? I heard any and all ejections are 7 game suspensions in basketball. Rewatched it on NFHS. Looked like it was an interesting environment to say the least in Tazewell last week. Some fans and the girls coach went on the court during it all and looks like the cops had to kick them out. If he's out for 7 games that leaves VA High with not much size at all.
Oh I 100% agree with that. I am sure the rivalry had a lot to do with this. IMO Tazewell is in a dog fight with VA High Marion and Lebanon without Creasy at QB.
I think this whole conversation boils down to what these awards mean to the people voted. Is it given to the best player, the player that has the best stats, or the player that meant to most to their team.
Creasy's stats would by far put him as one of the best in the state.
One could argue that the best QB in the district is Mike Reese and if you put him on Tazewell or Grahams roster his stats would be better. Also if you vote a kid POY he is automatically 1st team at his position which brings back up the Reese Creasy debate again.
If POY is the kid that meant the most to their team its probably Clements but he missed too much time during the season to get that award.
Graham has gotten sloppy. They might get beat next week playing like this.
Let's not forget. Clements is still out. He obviously makes this team much better on offense. When he comes back I think they have one of the most lethal offenses in the state. They aren't just throwing deep bombs anymore. They spread it around really well. They have Daniel Jennings who will complement Clements really well. We'll see if Clements gives it a go next week.
Looks like the Graham Union game could be a good one here in a couple weeks, which probably isn't a shocker to anyone.
I think Graham showed a lot tonight in how they dominated this game. Roberts looked better. Edwards looks good. Daniel Jennings is only a sophomore and has all the potential in the world. If Clements can come back in a week or two that's just an added weapon.
Galax really battled with Glenvar last week. Not so much tonight.
Richlands freshman Jack Clem won the region yesterday. I haven't seen or heard anything from the girls but I expect Parker White from Marion to have won yesterday's region as well.
