O.K. First off to Lance you make all this sound as if it was one kid that made the difference on defense for grundy and it wasnt ! and as for hurley running to much ? they passed as much as they ran the ball they just never could connect cooper had a bad game and as a team Hurley's whole team had a bad game , now Im not taking anything from Grundy they earned it except for that crazy catch and fumble recovery in the end zone. But what gets me about you is you talk like you are a coach and your no where near any form of a coach ! you know about as much about football as a 2 year old but now dont get me wrong you say all the right things to make people that dont know the real you believe all this crap . I for one am sick and tired of all this stupid im better because Im from the other side of the mtn. crap, I hear it all the time "there from Hurley you know there kind" or why would you want to go to Hurley there nobody", "Grundy is a much better place than Hurley". and its people like you that make these kind prejudice remarks that gives sites like this a bad name, you blow all these kids up to sound like pros on all these teams and they believe all your bull crap and they get on here and go at it back and forth its nothing no more than Bullying and to let these kids say Im better than you , and you think its fine to take your pictures and gloat when you get a chance and to make fun in your own little way at these kids that give it there all . now there's much more i can say except I will leave at this "Tell me Lance the all mighty God of administrators , What do you want to be when you grow the Hell up"! Good game grundy you were the better team congrats. P.S. Lance here is one for the road because i figure you will do your magic thing of kicking me after this ! I have watched a couple of high school baseball games this year and as I watched them I got real mad as to what I saw going on. If there is anyone that has seen this please chime in on this but here is the story! Council has a kid that in my opinion is getting screwed he was a starter until last year and was a good pitcher until the coach from last year all but gave him the boot for what ever reason he gave he sat him on the bench letting younger players that had not had the experience he had at pitcher and at 1st and 3rd base take his potions ,now I'm not from Council as most of you know but I do have a bunch of friends from over that way and that is what I was doing at the game. So dont think I'm a disgruntled parent I'm not! However I am ticked off about this situation you see small town school politics have played a roll in the way some kids get treated in this county for years and in my opinion that is what has happen here! I mean you dont go from a starting pitcher all threw little league and then pitch you first 2 years at the varsity level to not pitching at all! unless ??? someone (coach) has a vendetta with a kid ? or unless the coach is trying to pay back a favor ! and the more I ask around the more I think it could be both . this kids parents are very humble people and dont like to raise a ruckus and wont say anything but I thought someone should, its sad to think that anyone would degrade themselves by doing a kid this way but if you have played sports in this county you know it happens all to often, sometimes its not how good your are or your dedication to your team and the sport but who you are and what can your big donation do for us? Now if I'm wrong about this one I will be the first to say so but you wont have to worry about that because the truth will stand when the world is coming to a end. For one I cant stand it when someone hides behind these nicknames on here so here it goes ,I'm Chris Pack and for most of you on here you know me I have been around basketball since i got old enough to dribble , and I don't know you and don't care who you are but when you say these boys weren't cheated your dead wrong !! O.K. yes they had 20 turnovers but I would bet 9 of those were caused by a page county player taking off there arm to get to the ball , and don't get me started on how Dustin got hammered 9 out of 10 times to the basket and nothing was called. Now for the officiating.I't wasn't all 3 refs that were terrible it was one ref that stole the show for page county, you see I was there I drove back home last night and as a huge hurley fan and a friend of these boys I will stand up and argue with anyone that says these boys weren't dealt a bad hand in this game .and if you were there and by some of you early post it looks as though you were you would have to be a complete idiot sorry to use the word but thats the only word that would sum it up, so since you are giving a opinion of the game and if you were there give us your out take on it I would love for yo to tell these young men why a ref could allow the other team to call a time out when you had the ball dribbling down the floor???? and they ask coach cooper to make his asst. coach sit down, lol well I didn't even mind that but the rule also states that after a head coach picks up a (T) he cannot stand anymore for the rest of the game while the ball is in play but page county's coach on more than one time would stand and call out to his players, not to mention several elbows on rebounds ! there was one elbow that took place right in front of the official that almost took of the head of Austin cooper and the ref went by mark with a smile and said he wasn't touched. now I don't know if you have ever played basketball but as a coach and a player I can tell you that this kind of officiating takes away from the way some teams play there game when we got as physical as they were well we got called on it , Hurley was a 15 point better team than page on any giving night . Now I'm not taking a thing away from page they had a couple of shooters and yes they did hustle there butts of, but so did Twin valley every time they played us and they didnt make it passed us? I would make a bet that Twinvalley could beat page lol unless they had there home town refs calling for them .The bottom line is this we missed a real chance at state championship because of a official that couldn't stand the fact that a small time school like hurley could actually play with some of there big dogs up around there . So please give us a explanation to why you think hurley wasnt cheated out of this one because I'M sick and tired of people saying well they missed a few on both sides and understand I'm a realist and I have probably seen and played more basketball than most on here will ever ,and after seeing what the officials did in the NCAA after chocking the ST.John's game I think these officials should man up and do the same and take there self out of reffing but not for just a few games but for ever . So congrats to page county you got a win but if we took a vote on here i bet everyone says the same about the officials but I do wish page county luck today but if you have the same refs you wont need any luck. Now to my HURLEY basketball team you guys have brought back so much excitement to our little town and yes I cried for you guys I have watched all f you from k-1 up till now and you all have nothing to hang your heads about you will be there next year but I bet with a stronger desire! and to Carey Brown and Todd Hurley you guys will be deeply missed thanks for all the memories, tears and laughs wish you guys the best. So I'm gone till next year hope to see the stands full again and as you all know around Hurley if there is a basketball bouncing in the gym I will be there to watch and support.

I was with you for minute there and I know this family , and I was thinking mark hasn't taken to state in KY. lol then it dawned on me he must have been talking about watching the state games not playing in them . so dont feel so bad but its still funny i laughed at myself for a second.

I do not know you from Adam nor do you me, but i would be willing to beat that you are either a ref or used to be or maybe have a father that is. and yes i would like to see them call a coach on stepping out of his coaches box because 2 years ago it cost me a win and a chance to play for a championship when a coach stepped onto the floor 4 feet out of his box and cause my point guard to lose the ball out of bounds . and yes allot of this is just simply common sense but most refs don't even use that .the fact is that refs do not like coaches to tell them they made a bad call, and your never going to make them believe that they are wrong and once they get a grudge against you well your screwed . Here is another example of how refs dictate a game. nowhere in the rule book will it say that a ref has a assigned position to watch or call, so instead of giving the escape way out and say thats not my call ! if you see it call it because its part of the game and is taking away from the players after all thats who you guys say you look out for right? so its as easy as this if a ref knows its a foul , call it, if its a hand checking call it etc.... etc... regardless to where you are on the floor it would make the game better to watch knowing a team is getting a fair shake.

First off it is your job as an official to make calls by the rule book, most refs dont make the tough call in a close game because they hate the thought that one call could determine the out come of a game so they let way to much stuff go and then call a hand check! and as for the players control the game well your wrong the coach controls the game, it is he or she that run the show all players do is follow orders . and yo want to know what a good official is? Its one that in the flow of the game you never know hes out there because he is doing his job th way its suppose to be done. and as a coach you expect for the ref to make calls that are by the book because you teach your players to play by these same rules you have said are obscure calls that have no need anymore. so you may have been a ref at one time but I assure you that if you officiate the way you portray the game to be how in the world did you ever make it out of a gym with out some parent taking your head off? and Im not casting any stones I have also officiated ball games before and it is not a easy job , But i have always called by the rule regardless if it was a hand check, charge , blocking, etc.... but the one call that has always ate at me is when REF tells you it wasnt a foul ! hand is part of the ball. And you know that is crap , in that case why call a hack across the hand when a kid steels the ball? my point exactly , ref control to much of the games outcome because they dont call by the rules .!!!!!!!

After reading all these posts I remembered the rule change, a buddy of mine is a official and I asked him about it since he was the one that told me about the rule change a couple years ago . He said the old rule was different than the way its written now, its now under unsportsmanlike that is why you can get a technical foul.

I have to say this girl is one of the most humble hard working kids I have ever seen play anywhere and to do this at such a small school like Twin valley should say allot about her game , she always has a smile on her face and she as far as I know has never had any trouble with any opposing players. I mean its not odd to see a kid score 2,000 points in KY. Wva. or one of those states that allow you to play from 7th grade up on a varsity team but to do this in just 4 years is amazing . CONGRATS !! to Katie Jo. all I can say is I'M glade she is a senior man I'm tired of seeing her score. lol just kidding . great job Katie and good luck to what ever you decide after high school.

HEY I saw you at the Haysi game taking pictures if you have any of waynick dunking the ball over those poor 2 Haysi players post them if you can.

We ended the regular season with the best win vs. lost percentage in school history . and not only that but if I'm not mistaking at least one home game in the regionals as long as we win the BDD tourney? but man was it a good game to watch and be a part of . all the fans from both sides were none stop the whole game it was so loud you couldn't hear the refs blow there whistle on several occasions . But good luck REBELS you still have a bunch of work to do before you cut down anymore nets. so keep your minds focused on the task at hand . BDD title, REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP, AND THEN STATE!!!!!!
