The BIG 3 that I am talking about is Austin and Tyler Cooper and the big man 6'7" Dustin Waynick. They are the three top scorers for the Rebels, and also all 3 are seniors. However that is not all the Rebels have as they return all but 2 players from a team that went to the Final Four last year. Also returning is Sophomore guard Wesley Peck who played great last year as a freshman. Also in their starting 5 is forward Thomas Allen who came through big for the Rebels several times last year both offensively and defensively. Most all of the bench returns with the exception of 2 that graduated. Looking to fill those open spots on the roster could be players from a talented JV squad. Or from what I am hearing possibly even two recent transfers, Tyler Berglowe and Dylan "Teddy Bear" Justus who are playing football for the Rebels.

Sure will man, as soon as I get a chance.

I have Hurley's full schedule, they are in the VA high tournament again this year, not sure what the name of that tournament is however. They also travel down to TN high for the Arby's Classic where they should face some very very good teams. They also play two game real early on the schedule against Logan and Mingo Central, don't really know anything about either one of those teams. They will once again be road warriors for a while as they do not have a home game until after the new year. With it being the senior year for Hurley's BIG 3, I am expecting them to have another very sucessful season.
-
Oak Hill Academy will be coming to compete in a scrimmage with the Hurley Rebels on December 3. I have been told that it will actually be there B team but still yet, some very good competition for the Rebels.

It's gonna keep happening until the day Hurley and Grundy becomes one a day I hope comes after my son graduates from Hurley. Everyone acts as if this is a new concept around here but no it isn't. It has happened before, Theo Justus and Stephen Baker went from Hurley to Grundy. One of Grundy's best wrestlers all time Scott Justus went from Hurley to Grundy. Robby Rife went from Hurley to Grundy and then back to Hurley. Now this year Berglowe and Dylan goes from Grundy to Hurley and plus they have been some girls transfer as well from Hurley to Grundy this year that I don't know if anyone knows about to play basketball and softball. The fact is they are nothing that can be done about it. All anyone has to do is come up with a reason why and go before the school board. My son is in 4th grade now and when he started school I lived in Garden and work close to Hurley, I was a single father at the time and my only choice was to get my parents to come and get him and take him to Hurley. I went to the school board and had to explain to them why he needed to go to Hurley instead of Twin Valley where he lived. After I told him he was in Hurley, took all of 5 minutes. The thing is they are no stopping kids from transferring, right or wrong a kid can go to school where ever he or she wants to!

I know I made a mistake I guess where I had people asking me who they played next week. I had them on my mind.

Final score
Hurley 52
East Ridge 0

WOW is this for real??? Did they both really get kicked off if so this really hurts because the Clabough kid had saw a lot of time on offense. Has a lot of heart and and is a really tough kid. Then like you said Kade was a big part of the defense and just a really good ball player.
-
Are you kidding me!!! Grundy wouldn't stand a chance against Richlands!!! Richlands would destroy Grundy, just like they did last year.
-
As I said before lack of blocking up front of Hurley's part the defense played well and held Grundy to just 6 points in almost 3 quarters. The defense played pretty well and if we had better blocking up front this game would had been a lot different. The game begins and ends with the offensive line because you have no passing game and no running game without a good o-line. Berglowe couldn't even turn the corner because by the time he got around the corner Grundy was already there. The O-Line just really let down last night. As far as some of you putting Waynick, Cooper and Berglowe down I still defend the fact that I believe they are 3 of the most talented players around.

Any update on the Honaker game last I heard it was still 14-14
-
No I am not gonna just up and disappear I will continue to post on here, and I will continue to support my Rebels no matter what. Grundy in my opinion did not impress me they did beat my Rebels but a lot of the Rebels problems was their own fault. Failure to block on the line, failure to protect Austin is the biggest reason why Hurley lost this game. Even with all that said Hurley still led 8-6 in the 3rd quarter. Grundy won and I know in the end that is all that matters a win is a win. But in my opinion Hurley gave this one away. Thats right people gave this one away!!!

True it has been a on again off again series since it's beginning.

You know Hurley has played football for 60 years with their first season being in 1951. Unfortunately Hurley has been on the short end of the stick in this rivalry. The Rebels won in 1953, 1986, and in 1992. Besides those three seasons Grundy has won every other matchup between the two schools. However I truly believe this is the year that Hurley defeats the Wave. I believe when you look at the two teams on paper Hurley is just the better team. I however am not saying this to be, as Lance put it early, talking SH!T. I am just stating my opinion on the matchup. So to all you Grundy fans you can take that ever how you want to, but it's just my opinion.
-
Also lets not forget Twin Valley played Grundy tough and then Twin Valley had a hard time beating a very weal Montcalm team. Heck Montcalm might be able to give the big bad Wave a run for their money.
-
Actually we had kinda just used the post from the Lebanon game and started talking about the Hurley game in it. Its the one titled Grundy game tonight.
-
A friend of mine said they say the entire coaching staff at the Grundy game last week, so you better believe Tester is gonna have the boys ready.
-
Oh yeah and by the way he was voted ALL STATE last year. Just figured I would add that.
-
If you doubt his game and his speed, get yourself out to a game and check him out. Believe you will have a different opinion once you see him.
-
I posted the video on my facebook and also liked the facebook page that they have set up for the boy and shared it with all my friends. Very sad story, my thoughts and prayers go out to this young man and his family.
-
What? Your kidding they are no cumulative standings? It would make it so much more fun to have a season champion.
