The center from Hurley that you are referring to is Dustin Waynick. If you are talking about the best players so far this season Waynick is not the only great player from Hurley. Austin Cooper I believe is the teams leading scorer. They also have other big scorers in Tyler Cooper and their sharpshooting guard Wesley Peck. The Rebels are stacked with talent this season, the sky is the limit for this team.

Way to go Rebels!!! Hurley is now 8-1 which I believe may be the best start in school history. Keep up the good work hurley its a long road to the state.

does anyone seriously know what they mean by the Skills competition, are they having a 3 point shootout or maybe a slam dunk contest

I was there tonight as well, thought Hurley played a excellent game considering how much of a poorly called game it was. They was several no calls where our boys were getting beat to death. Two players for Johnson Central #32 and #13 should had been threw out for their behavior during the game. 32 pretty much threw Waynick to the floor once and then it looked like 13 was trying to step on Austin once when he was on the floor. Then once 32 threw Austin to the floor once I thought it had busted his nose but he was fine. Then one of the most unsportsman like things I have ever seen. 13 fell out of bound near Hurleys bench and Mark padded the kid of the back as he got to his feet and I suppose asked if he was ok 13 basically pushed Marks arm away. Then someone from the other side yelled out keep your hands off of him coach. I thought Johnson Central was a great team but they did not show good sportsmanship at all. I don't know if it was because they had heard that we were a really good team and they wanted to try to make a statement but their behavior was horrible. Was they really a 5A team? If so that just makes Hurleys performace tonight even more impressive!!!

I am not surprised by this at all. Certain people from Grundy have always been like this. Before anyone says anything back to me, I know this does not apply to every person in Grundy. Early this season when Grundy traveled to Hurley they defeated us very easily. Then I live just a mile or so above the high school. As the traffic was leaving the game. I had some fans go by as me and my family was going into our home scream out f*** you you S.O.B. Now tell me what is the point in that kind of behavior at anytime. You had just defeated us now you feel the need to screamed obscenities at people as they are going into their homes. I have a lot of friends from Grundy, and I know this does not apply to everyone but a lot of the diehard Grundy football fans are like this.

First off I am not from Abington. Second of all I had just heard a lot of people talking about how they think that Richlands is actually out recruting players to come to play football for them. I personally think this is wrong. I mean if my high school team wins I would want it to be because the boys are boys that we have watched from the time they were little. Boys representing their own town and playing for the same school their father, brother, or other friends of family members have played for. I personally would rather my high school have a losing season with boys that are from my schools own town, than to recrute players from other school. I believe in school pride, town pride, and team pride.

Does anyone know when was the last time that Hurley defeated Grundy the Mountaineer said that Hurley has there best chance to beat Grundy in nearly 20 years. My wife said she thought that they defeated Grundy back in 93. Does anyone know?
