A guy sitting behind me today at Honaker was talking about how if GC won and Galax won then Honaker would host GW next week. Galax and Honaker have no connection and GC is 2A! There are a lot of people who are still lost
I am totally amazed as well. Is it that hard? I think the confusion people have as far as its a bracket from the start of the playoffs and there is NO reseeding until the cross bracket (semis)with the east is where most of the questions i see/hear have to do with. And if someone doesnt knw ... ive heard em jus make somethin up! Its quite a comical conversation sometimes!!

No trick plays Streak, just their basic Single WIng plays, which were difficult enough to stop.
Honor and respect, 2 tings Covington knows nothing about. Although I did talk to a couple of their fans after the game, seemed like good people. Coaching staff was an embarrassment
I'm not just talking about Honaker fans sitting over there. I'm talking about those that created a cheering section for the other teams. I'm sure it was all Honaker fans but I do know a few for sure. One of them is a coach and co-worker of mine and he had quite a few players with him doing the same thing. I do know Honaker's QB was backing Haysi though cause he tailgated with us and stood near us. I know it wasn't everybody in Honaker. Doesn't matter to me anyway though, I'm for Honaker all the way tomorrow. Take Radford down!

Absolutely CLASSLESS display by many Covington players and coaching staff. Their community should be embarrassed going out like that. Haysi should appeal the ejections and should win. Covington was out of it at that point and had nothing to lose by starting a fight except honor and respect. Haysi had a tremendous amount to lose. I believe when VHSL watches the tape they will see Covington was clearly the instigators and should rule accordingly.
Sounds like Sussex Central a couple years ago at Honaker! Even fans were comin down the bleachers that game!!! And I can speak for myself but I was pullin hard for the ole Red tigers(ugh...bad taste for some reason:)) last year but your home side was full last year pal, so either sit on the not so full visitor side or stand! I am sure glad you decided to chime in UVAObserver. I think most will see all tried to be very nice and accommodating. Then the Gate City with two athletes and then the flood gates opened with stupidity ! Gate City has earned better than that with their efforts on the field for decades. Truly a Gold Standard for SWVA Football
Key words "SWVA football" .. i think that is another example of some people's lack of knowledge/respect up that way for SWVA football. I say some people cause i dnt want to group them as a whole!! I personally will take us good ole boys from SWVA with the "team" heart we have down on our end of the state up against anybody!!!

Wow That is impressive I must say. sounds like it should be a great setting and environment for some good High School football. I even think the weather is going to be pretty nice also.
So thats around 3500 cow bells.....And you'll hear those cow bells for a week followed by a train horn on some big pickup!! although u heard the cow bells last year im sure!!! Pullin for the SWVA team in this one of course but best of luck and safe travels to you Buckingham folks!!
Now back to Abingdon. Very proud of the Falcons tonight! Wish so much it would have ended different but a GREAT season and one to be very proud of. Nothing to hold your head down about this season. Wow what a difference a very good coaching staff can make. Of course the young men have worked very hard for this and now hopefully look forward to football in Falcon Town !

2nd that!!! Great season Falcons!!! I thought after the comeback they were gonna pull it out and make some SWVA noise in 3A but Broadway knew they were there and that SWVA can play some football!!!
All who like Saturday playoff games are comin from us that are used to it that way and all who like Friday night games are used to that... so its jus what we are used to and jus a difference of opinions.... makes the board work if ya knw what i mean!!! I like it when its a combo of both as well so u can watch a game friday somewhere and saturday somewhere else!!! Great points on both sides!!! Good luck to all SWVA teams in the playoffs guys!!!
