Galax wins it 69 to 52. Parry McCluer shoots 6 threes in 4th period. Galax will now face Castlewood and Parry McCluer will face Hurley in Salem.

Nice move by Coach Verl Brown to play his entire bench in 4th period. Will give these young backups some great experience and something to tell their grandchildren. Oakhill also substituted in the 4th period too. Great atmospshere and crowd at Galax high. Oakhill moves to 37-0 and Galax falls to 19-2 with this loss. Parsons leads Galax with 20 points. Parsons did well against 7-footer A.J. Hammons inside.

As expected Oakhill continue's to dominate.

Oakhill doing what's expected. Seem like the Galax guards have been getting mugged. Oakhill's Smith Rivera (spelling) awesome 3 point shooter and Jordan Adams putting on a show. Parsons leading Galax with 12 points. Oakhill has been putting more reserves in to keep it respectable.

Did not help that starting point guard (Lewis) had the stomach flu and was sick. I had the stomach flu a few weeks back and was in the fetal position...not sure how he even played.

Galax 63 Grayson 61 Final. Galax's Parsons and McKinney in foul trouble early. Grayson led Galax 36 to 27 at half. Galax's backup,Travis Garvey, comes in for Parsons and played well. Grayson's Cannaday misses a 3 at the buzzer.

The fort also seems to kick it up a notch when playing at home too. They are tough at home...nice win for them.

Ft Chiswell shot well at home and beats Galax 54-50. Ft Chiswell ends game on a 12-2 run for the win. Galax falls to 16-1 and 6-1 MED. Galax faces Grayson County Friday at Grayson(their biggest rival) and if Grayson pulls off the win Grayson and Galax will be 5-2 in the MED...big game for both teams. Grayson County beat Ft. Chiswell 82-56 on 1/27. Ft Chiswell is also now 5-2 in the MED. MED is shaking up to a nice race. Grayson-Galax game will be broadcast on http://www.wwwj1360.com.

GALAX -- Lawrence Parsons scored 21 points and grabbed 27 rebounds as the Maroon Tide maintained their undefeated record as they held off the visiting G-Men. Lamont Edwards led Graham with 14 points while Tony Hood added 11. Graham shot the 3 (7) ball well tonight but was out-rebounded 42-17. 3-point-goals -- Graham 7 (Hood 3, Edwards 3, Hill)

L. Parsons (key starter and big man) out sick for Galax, and they played with only 7 guys (Galax got into foul trouble early). Galax missed 6 straight layups at one point and did not shoot well. Tazewell had upset on their minds and played well. Tazewell led Galax 44-38 at half. D. George hits game winner with 6 seconds left in regulation for a score of 75-73. :eek:

WOW, Galax will host Oakhill Gold #1 team in the nation on Feb 9 at home. What an honor for these young players to play against talent like Oakhill. Of course, I don't expect it to be close but will be an experience these youngsters will never forget. Oakhill probably by 40 at least. Yeah, I know that my tag line is kind of funny with that story. But I did hear it on a national radio show....it appears to have prove true. I don't believe anything Joe Paterno's son says.
