  1. I guess the talking is over with since the game will kickoff in approximately 3 hours. Im going to make the trip to Clintwood just to see if your predictions of Clintwood pummeling Union takes place. The only waves I see that will be rolling tonight in Dickenson county will be on Flannagan lake. Here we come, stop us. Good luck and happy game tonight guys. Union 20 Clintwood 7.
  2. And I say hats off to that. Gate city is the only other time tested dynasty in SWVA. Even on alot of good years at Pv and Appy we had to swollow a loss to Gate City.
  3. I didn't say Union wouldn't pass the ball. Anyone would know that the I formation is about keeping a defense off balance and clock control. Richlamds wasn't held to under 25 points by a great defense or their lack of a good offense. Keeping the ball on the ground keeps the ball out of the other team's hands while eating time off the clock. Just when the other team assumes the ball is coming up the middle yet again, you tack 6 on the scoreboard because a corner was just burned. I'm looking forward to the drive to Dickenson county. Remember a couple of weeks ago when you all predicted Clintwood to win by three touchdowns? We all know how that ended up. Just sayin'. Hopefully we will get to watch another great game. Have a great week guys.
  4. 14 State championships says otherwise. You can rely on a power run offense.
  5. Union will win this by 12+. Other than the Union-Lebanon game, all of Unions games have been decided by 6 points or less. I would have said this would be a decent matchup three weeks ago. Clintwood allowed a ton of points against an awesome Grayson County team and I believe Union can also capitalize on that. This will be the first LDP matchup for Union and Clintwood has more to prove in this game. Union is battle tested and have shown they can compete and are among the elite of SWVA this year. Power I and T coming right up. See you there!
  6. I pick Clintwood by 6 against a young Lebanon team. Too bad Clintwood's win streak ends next week though. I'm afraid there isn't nearly enough depth or talent to compete with Union.
  7. Haha a miracle? There were two Union Recievers standing wide open and he hit one in the letters. It was a good game and another well spent 6 bucks on the Bears. I don't know how much more my nerves will allow this season. Kudos to Virginia High for playing a classy game and showing off those awesome backs!!! I was very Impressed with #8's speed and cutting ability for Virginia High. Good luck this season.
  8. I laughed out loud when I read this. I guess when you only have two trophies on display you have to resort these acts of heroism. When they win 14 state championships they will gain my respect.
  9. I'm glad this post is out of fun only. Some of the matchups I've been seeing are simply dangerous. Richlands - DB ??? Gate City - Science Hill ?? haha I would add the Green Bay Packers to their schedule as well. Those schools are better off left away from our schedules. Although it isn't swva, I would like to see that powerhouse Harlan County team play DB. They could even possibly be on schedule to play, Im not sure. I remember watching Harlan County walking on the field when they played Powell Valley a couple of years back and I'm pretty sure Earl Campbell unloaded from the bus. Its just hard to compete against schools that are much bigger. Imagine Ervington-Richlands or Ervington-Union. The same principal applies.
  10. 34-6 Union. Hopefully the crowd at Bullit Park will be rocking again this week to get those boys pumped up. I'm not sure what y'all expect but I think it will be one sided. Falcon sounds like a certain English teacher I had once upon a time. She sure did sound really nice rattling off those big words and such but boy did her breath smell bad. She would have been better off listening instead of insulting. Go Bears!
  11. Can you fairly say that Union shouldn't be #3 and Riverheads should be #1? I assume you have at least watched both teams play. I can assure you that anyone who watched the Union-Richlands game can vouch for their validity. Without a few mishaps on special teams, Union could have won. I'm not taking credit away from Richlands because they are a very physical team, but so is Union. I think we have Clintwood on our schedule for Sept. 30 and I hope after that you will be able to accept that Union is for real. I know Powell Valley and Appalachia have been down for the past few years but things change and so has High school football at Bullit Park.
  12. Although I haven't kept a close eye on schools other than Union this year, Highlights and scores indicate there are some very good teams. I know that I've spent 10 bucks the past two Fridays watching Union and I don't believe I could have spent it any better way. A close game at Lee that was decided by 5 points and the 'coulda shoulda' game againt Richlands that was lost with just over a minute to go. Both Lee and Richlands were able to compete with Union which impressed me. Power I and T coming to a town near you! : ) Go Bears!!
