  1. Didn't hurt having some of the athletes Saunders/BI had too lol. Interesting concepts/idea though. How would you suggest going about this? Interesting concepts though from your POV.
  2. That's all of SWVA... besides the culture surrounding male sports. Why is that so bad? and what is bad?
  3. Care to elaborate on what needs to change? I am clueless here. Is Central really that bad culture wise?
  4. I can agree with that in football... JJK/Central has notoriously been terrible at football. Nothing new there.
  5. Not as much traffic. Tough to discuss a rivalry when you just keep it to one sports don't you think?
  6. I am not detesting that. I was discussing rivalry between the two schools and you assumed since this is a football forum I was only talking that Union-Central has a football rivalry which is not true. I have been around on forums for years... since the black and green days of the old LPD forum. LOL. excuse me then. A rivalry is across several sports... Sorry to ruffle some feathers boys.
  7. Merely talking football, Central-Union is not a rivalry. Union traditionally romps Central. But Rivalries tend to spill over into other sports DJ... Cant tell me the Duke-UNC mens soccer game is not just cut throat as the mens basketball game. Same goes for Central-Union. Union just dominates the sport.
  8. Weird idea but there are more sports than football. Just as you Vikings hung your hats on football, JJK hung theirs on baseball and arguably girls basketball. Seems like Central has been doing a fair job at girls basketball don't ya think?
  9. *lose And honestly, with a healthy Central and Union... Union would still win. The rivalry is fun for the area. PV-Appy, JJK-JIB, Pound-Clintwood, were all great rivalries. In any sport, they were intense as well as any record. Whether one team in undefeated and the other winless, the games are intense bc schools hate each other. I don't care how nasty or whatever everyone wants to refer to it as. I am a big fan of this Central-Union rivalry. Hopefully, it will become more competitive soon.
  10. Union... the moral compass of Wise County
  11. Everything is making a bit more sense why he de-committed.
  12. I could be mistaken... I knew one cost more than the other. I remember reading it and it sounds like Central was the more costly project... I have yet to find the presentation on the WCPS website.
  13. I vaguely remember Union costing more money than Central did. I am talking full construction and such. Remember PV had to be demolished while Central's old school (JJK) wasn't. Does this ring a bell for anyone else? That when you put the figured it cost putting up Union and Central (two identical school with the same blueprints) that Union came out much more expensive. Using your logic jarhead, then Central should be "owed" some money... Maybe that will justify the $200,000 the BOS gave... not the SB. I am going to comb through the WCSB website to see if I can find the presentation with this info.
  14. Not getting anywhere keyboard warrioring replies to people who do not live in Wise County... Take your complaints to the school board.
  15. Interesting read no doubt. Some stiff allegations in the letter.
  16. Curious, where does your son go then? Since Union and Central have the same floor plan I am guessing Eastside? You have got to be kidding me... Tennis/Football field drained the funds? lol come on man. Literally, in the article, it explains where that money comes from. Donors that were named and the Board of Supervisors. if there is a shortage of funds why are they building a pool?
  17. I believe people didn't like PV so much overall because they beat the breaks off people in football. Other schools felt it was time to return the favor in other sports which did not happen often. (See JJK Baseball) What a shame with the other things mentioned. I know the girls bball program/girls tennis program is flourishing which I assumed added to the hatred fire. It seems like Robin always has his girls at the top of the district/conference year after year.
  18. Do people have issue with WC outside of boys basketball?
  19. I sure hope you get to the bottom of this!
  20. Interesting read... The school's side of things gets brought out. Apparently he "practiced" a kid when doc ordered him to not and allegations of bullying to the trainer. Tack on an assistant coach quit due to Sensabaugh;s behavior... My bet is he is gone after the meeting Tuesday.
  21. I am with @WISespread_Panic. What admin in there right mind would hire him after this season? He has really been around Crockett for 2-3 months as a coach... If he did this in the Spring, after trying to jump through the correct hoops to fix problems and they ignore him then by all means blast the county. He just jumped straight to blasting the county via social media. Sure it is exposing the problem but if he is "there for the kids" how is this beneficial to them if he gets fired after his 1st season? Not saying he does not have legitimate complaints/gripes... There is just ways about going about this IMO. Granted, he has nothing to lose like I have said. He gets fired, oh well, he went in to try and bring change and the system "did not want it". He leaves smelling like roses to move on to a "better team". DB won't touch him after these shenanigans. Too much of a liability.
  22. I think he is done at Crockett that is for sure.
  23. I agree with that. And he has nothing to lose. If anything, he gets fired, he will be smelling like roses. His team is winning which they cannot say they were last year.
