wavefan64 10 Author Report Share Posted January 23, 2005 All the schools are closed...there are schools I have never heard of closed...lol...but anyways, went joyridin in the Tacoma today, kept it in 4th gear, it didn't really slide that much Great day to do some sleigh ridng also, or if you are into snow skiing, you could go off of my driveway..lol Dad has to go to work tonight, and the holler is still all white. The sun didn't really do anything except make it look like it was nice outside. The wind is what did most of the melting, blowing snow to the roadside and stuff. Lance 228 Report Share Posted January 24, 2005 just a question... someone said that "they ran out of salt"...how? we have not had any winter weather this year so far? Why is it that they wait until there is a foot of snow on the road to do anything? If they would start treating the roads before or when it first starts snowing, it wouldn't get so bad. In Tazewell you have 4 main exits that lead in to town...why can't they clear these off? When they do scrape the road it is worse than before they scrape it...they just pack the snow down making it more slick...makes no sense...we live in an area that gets snow every year, this should not be a huge surprise to anyone...and it's been warm this year so far...had plenty of time to prepare for the first big one. wavefan64 10 Author Report Share Posted January 24, 2005 They do a pretty good job in and around Grundy, they just hardly ever hit Dry Fork, and other secondary roads..They just scrape it and gravel them..Makes them fun to get out of..lol Oh yeah, how do they do with the high school parking lots in that area? Usally Golden Wave Drive is worse than any other road
