I probably haven't posted on here in the past 5 years, but I do have an argument over the whole recruitment issue. When Christiansburg won their first state title in 2002, it was more or less with hometown boys, such as Anthony Boyd, Bryan Little, B.J. Compton, people like that. And when someone transferred there from Radford or Blacksburg such as Jackie Toney, we called that recruiting! If only we could have seen the near future.. Now here are some statistics for Grundy: 50 some individual AA state champs with 70 some state championship medals. 2 High School National Champions, 2 4x State Champions, State titles in 1978, 1987-1998, 2000 and 2001. All with wrestlers from Vansant, Grundy, Slate Creek to WV line, Big Rock, Harman, and Prater.. How many actual state championship medals came from talent from the Cburg area? I'm not knocking the original state championship team, not knocking any wrestler from Cburg..We all know that the recruiting goes on, It wont be stopped any time soon, and well, somebody else is gonna have to try to step up to the plate and knock christiansburg off the top of the podium! Now, for the 4 wrestlers that won the state title, Congratulations! It's not often that you see 4 wrestlers in the same program with 150+ wins..Sean Van Dyke, Jeremy Hurley, and Cody Rife, along with the other seniors on the team will be sorely missed, but to you boys coming back next year, It's time to dominate..

He fought one fight in KY..amatuer...Aaron is the one that is fighting..hopefully he will make it pro one of these days

Grundy might make it back up one of these days...If I ever get a night off of work I will have to go watch them..might have to take Primetime with me.. This years Grundy team does not lack heart or effort for sure...Grundy in 05'...well..It sucked to be a senior that year...trust me...that team had a LOT of talent..and only 2 or 3 people that cared..what else can you say about a team with 11 seniors the first day of practice...and only 3 left the last game..no heart...at all..everybody wanted to quit..but..for myself..Tigh..and Garon..I'm glad we stuck it out

I don't think that Derek will get the 119 spot..Just my opinion. I think that either way though, their lineup is looking the best it has in a few years..And the best it has for a long time from top to bottom

I guess I should be glad I live in good ole' Grundy intsead of a more "urban" area.. Some of these kids scare me. They walk around looking like a mixture between powder and MC Hammer with the baggy pants they wear..They could at least get a tan and be too legit to quit..haha And for all the people out there that say the music causes this..I am as big of a hick as you will find, and I listen to music that is just as hard as the kids..I just choose not to dress crazy, that is there choice. I played football in school for attention, and they dress weird and talk about killing themselves for it. Some people are just different I guess. Maybe they have a different upbringing, or maybe the music makes them like this, who knows?

I don't mean to drag a dead horse..but that call of excessive celebrating is the biggest load of horse crap i have ever seen in my life...I agree with John Adams..that is a disgrace to officiating...I would have a hard time sleeping at night if I robbed someone like Burton got robbed...

Tazewell always has some big guys...Luke Dales was the last monster from the weightroom Grundy had..I would guess he benched high 3's...I think Josh "Pugs" McCoy who graduated in 2000 holds it. The coaches always said he got like 450? He was a BEAST..not all that big, not the best player, but he was a man..

I remember that play..I remember the sound it made...it was one of the nastiest hits i have ever seen..All 220 pounds of Looney laid the smack down on that kid..he never saw it coming..lol.. I do believe myself and one of the other posters on this board contributed on some of those plays..I have always said it, and will say it to this day, if you get Garon Marcum to the Outside untouched, he will make things happen..I wish him well..
