Of the recruits, Demetrius Taylor, a linebacker from Norfolk, Va., turned in the most impressive performance during freshmen testing. The 6-0, 235-pounder recorded a 385-pound bench press, a 34-inch vertical jump and 4.69-second 40-yard dash. His bench press was tops among freshmen.

Defensive backs Jahre Cheeseman, Dorian Porch and Macho Harris recorded the fastest 40 times at 4.5 seconds, while Mark Muncey, a walk-on from Tazewell, Va., had the highest vertical (36 inches).

That's awesome...

and notice the fastest 40 times were DB's with 4.5's...just for you guys who keep talking about 4.2's...a 4.5 is moving pretty good down the field.

4.2 is almost inpossible thats the reason a 4.2 is a record set by 1 of the fastest moving players ever to play( Micheal Vick) you can tell when you watch your player with there "4.2" and Vick there is no way your player could keep up.

most backs around here run a time of 4.7 4.75, but they always have an "coached timed" 4.4 or 4.5 lol You have exceptional speed if you run a 4.6 around here and 4.5 is great.

Actually the record at Tech is held by Deanglo Hall. He ran like a 4.18.

I think Hall ran a 4.15 at Tech. Marcus' time is down about the same as Mike's, 4.25ish.

I knew Muncy was special when I watched him play hurt in the playoff game against Graham. He was all over the field despite being in obvious pain. I predict he earns a scholarship and cracks the 2-deep before he's done.
