Bluefield_Rules 46 Report Share Posted September 25, 2005 South Florida pounded the mighty Cardinals, 45-14. So much for that undefeated season and national title talk huh?

UVA_CAVALIERS 10 Report Share Posted September 25, 2005 They never had a chance at winning tonight, they shouldve never even been ranked that high, and people saying Nat'l Championship?? Let them play USC or Texas, that would be a slaughter. Im glad they lost!!
tom 10 Report Share Posted September 25, 2005 they'll still rebound and win the Big East..mark my words, they are a good solid team, not a GREAT team, they were just over looking todays game and SF snuck up on em and kicked em in the balls but they will rebound and run the rest of the table in the BE
EH31 2,532 Report Share Posted September 25, 2005 theres still no doubt i think they'll go 9-1 and win the big east and be back in the top 10 by the end of the season

tom 10 Report Share Posted September 25, 2005 they under estimated a team and forgot the old adage about 'on any given day'
Narz_Wave 10 Report Share Posted September 25, 2005 Sounds like they'll fit well in the Big East.

Bluefield_Rules 46 Author Report Share Posted September 25, 2005 The Big East just lost their "Bell Cow" too, which doesn't bode well for a conference on thin ice in the BCS as it is.
Sources 10 Report Share Posted September 25, 2005 They'll still beat WVU, that's all that matters.
EH31 2,532 Report Share Posted September 25, 2005 I think if they go through the big east with ease then the voters will put them in the top 10.. they don't want a # 20 or a # 15 team going to a BCS bowl
BigD4VT 11 Report Share Posted September 25, 2005 Nah, top-10 teams don't lose to unranked directional schools 45-whatever. They'll be lucky to stay in the top-25. Â As far as the BCS goes, it's just a matter of time before the Big East loses it's auto-bid.

BigD4VT 11 Report Share Posted September 25, 2005 The Big East has some potential. Louisville has fielded decent teams for a while now, UCONN has a ton of potential (I think the ACC should've grabbed them rather than BC), There is no reason PITT shouldn't win, and WVU has been very good at times. Â Of those teams though, only PITT could rely on in state talent. KY, CT, and WV just aren't big enough/have enough talent to sustain a top-10 caliber team every year. Â Of course the real reason the Big East is going nowhere is the basketball only schools. If the football schools don't form the BABE (Break away Big East) they'll just become another group of mid-majors.
Lance 228 Report Share Posted September 26, 2005 It's not any worse than Florida State not being able to lead Citadel at the half...Richlands could beat the Citadel by 14.
buzzsawBeaver 12 Report Share Posted September 26, 2005 Fact is it's not uncommon for teams to not have their best efforts against teams they should defeat according the records or stats or conferences.
BigD4VT 11 Report Share Posted September 26, 2005 Very true. Temple and Miami of Ohio come to mind for Tech fans.
