By far the biggest football game played in Monroe County since the last Bush was President. Who would've thought that we'd have this kind of game between these 2 teams at this point in the season. I've never seen as hard working, and selfless team as we've got this year. It's a complete unity toward getting to Wheeling, and trying to finally bring it home.

No doubt our guys have a huge test to pass this week against a team that's won this 3rd round 3 years strait, and have carried alot of steam in the last 2 games. Mavericks, you know what you have to do, and you have the players to get it done, just like in Bluefield a few weeks ago. You've busted your tails, and played your hearts out for this chance since you were in middle school. You know you don't wantfor it to end this Friday. Make this you're hardest working week of practice ever, and we'll all be there to support you Friday night, I don't care if it takes 10 overtimes to pull it off!!! Play 110% from start to finish, and I know you guys will do us proud, and get you're big chance.

Better watch that Action Jackson lol I think its gonna be a close game and with powell back i'll prolly give the edge to bluefield in a Very close game. Does this game say who's playing for the state?

well all i can say is best of luck to both programs!

and here is hoping this time the game isnt won by only a field goal

i recall that happening a few yrs back in the same kinda weather that's being predicted for this weekend...

anyways best of luck both teams

and may whoever goes to Wheeling, represent and make the south proud and bring home the AA title!

It is was it is, a game for all the marbles. As a Bluefield fan I couldn't have asked for anything more than a chance to get back to Wheeling this year and now we're on the doorstep. No coaching staff in the state prepares their team better for a rematch game in the same season than the Bluefield staff. And the sight of JM celebrating on our field weeks ago is something that's burned into the memory of every Bluefield player...

yeah and blfd coaches and players will also be reminded of the "comments" of the jm radio announcers while they were celebrating on the field.... that should get their blood boiling

I'm just pleased as heck that James Monroe is named among the final four this year with other great programs such as Wayne, Weir and Bluefield. It's a testament to their hard work, team work, and determination. Ditto for Bluefield. They never gave up and look where they're at now. Congralutions Beavers and Mavs. This is great. This is what it's all about. I believe we'll have an exciting southern brawl this weekend with the team that wants it the most winning. This is the time of the year where it comes down to heart and determination. This is the southern championship to me. Safe travel to Bluefield. Safe play to all!

Yeah, what did they say? I'd like to know myself. There's something about JM beating Bluefield this year that made Bluefield oversensitive, I think. When the JM fans cheered during and at the end of the game, we were chastised by Bluefield posters that we celebrated "like it was the superbowl". When the JM players celebrated on the field at the end of the game, that became a sore point to Bluefield. And apparently our announcers have offended someone in Bluefield as well. Tell me what fans don't cheer their teams, what players don't celebrate a victory, and what announcers don't support the team they follow???

I would also like to know what they said. Why would they be listening to a little radio station in Lindside, instead of their own station. Sounds to me like they were looking for something to complain about...

i think this is the final 4 that everyone was looking for... and if you look at the past couple years - this shows that JM is starting to establish themselves as one of the top AA programs. it should be 2 excellent games next weekend.

I would like to see a little more diversity and ingenuity in JM's playbook, which falls on the shoulders of our coaching staff. I've seen some improvement in that area this year and hope that means they're headed in the right direction with that. As for the players, I'm very proud of what they've accomplished this year and no matter what the outcome this Saturday, will remain proud of them. This has been a very good season -- one in which I've enjoyed immensely. Thank you very much, Mavs!!!! Where our coaching staff has lacked, you have more than made up for on the field!!!! Thanks for giving us fans such a fun season!!!

i wasnt listening to the lindside radio station.... i was walking out of the press box right behind the jm announcers and heard it with my own ears, nonetheless, some coaches heard it too as we were talkin bout it walkin to the locker room so the players get to digest that this week...

as far as "complaining" there is no complaint, and jm earned their right to celebrate that night.... but if i was on the team this yr, my blood would be boiling

so good luck to both teams saturday as i personally hope that if the beavers cant bring the title home, then i will certainly be pullin for the mavs...

I hope this gets us ready for the game. This must be the first time in a while a AA team has a chance to go to the big dance 4, i count it 4 years in a row. If that dont show you what bluefield football is about. Then i guess i'll never know...

I do believe it bluefield shows us and plays how they did against Grafton bluefled will be making another trip to wheeling. and for that comment that gives them even more reason to win this game. and about the monroe fans taking the field, if i heard this right. Thats kind of pointless in my opinion, what was there reason for this? "We beat the AA state champions", well i sure hope so after well lost like 15 starters on both sides of the ball

And a quick fact. Since i've been in high school (im a junior now) every playoff game i've attended we've won. The only game we havent won was that poca game, and i was sitting at my house listening to it. So hopefully i can keep that streak going as hopefully the beavers making another run at wheeling

Heres what coach skinner of grafton said about our team and im going to make it below my name.Because to me, if another coach says this about your team. he means it

"Thats why they make it to the state playoffs and go further than anyone else consistently. There the best progam in the state"

- Coach Skinner of Grafton

GO BEAVERS!!!!!!!!!!
