The question would come down to if you are talking about state dominance or National ranking. 1998 had a pre season ranking of #2 in the country highest ranking for any team from grundy (and the state of Va) EVER! They finished in the top 10 Nationally. 1996 crushed the AA competition although they did not beat all of their National level competition and they finished Ranked in the top 10. 1992 started the season unranked Nationally then they Beat Great Bridge in a tournament and beat #8 Western Branch 44-18 and had 13 district champs and 11 region champs and 5 state champs to finish #4 in the Country. The '88, '01 teams should be mentioned also top 10 teams. '93, '00, and '87 were all top 25. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
05lineman 10 Report Share Posted February 19, 2007 all very good arguments.....i just lean more toward the 92 team....i was about seven or eight at the time and that is the guys that u wanted to be like....they was just plain mean....and as Grundywinsall said, the best nationally grundy team 92, the best AA grundy team 96, and probably the best on paper team would be 98....
