zack 10 Report Share Posted April 26, 2007 i still say salem is the favorite! a lot of people have been picking blacksburg but most people have been concentrating on what salem is losing but they also return a lot.of first and utmost importance is the quarterback but that has been the case the last 2 years and the qb has turned out alright.but salem returns 6 receivers who caught passes last year.they also return harrison hudson and jon clemo at halfback who platooned for close to 1000 yards last year.the fullback probably be nathan goad who was a backup as a sophomore but maybe one of the strongest fullbacks we have had.we return tight end george george , who at 6'5" 240 could be division 1. the line returns center blake howery david mccauley and matt carr along with superstrong ryan dowe.many of these positions will be fought for because salem has a lot of depth, plus an undefeated jv team. those players will add more depth. special teams return starting kicker, plus punt and kick returnees evan fisher, jon clemo, and possibly korey gaines. defense returns 6 players who started at one time at defensive back, 2 starting linebackers, and 2 starting defensive ends who are both brutes. salem will have a strong physical team.
