dawgs86 10 Report Share Posted September 1, 2007 first time a Division 1-AA team has beaten a national ranked Division 1-A team.. Crazy how they blocked the last field goal in the closing seconds.. Thats the Pontiac Play of the Game winner right there..
BigBlueAlum 12 Report Share Posted September 1, 2007 Appy pulled one out. They looked really good when they played their normal offense. When they started trying to play concervative they couldnt do anytinhg, But when they got behind again they played like they did the first half. Big win for the Mountaineers! Bulldog 82 11 Report Share Posted September 2, 2007 I think Appalachian State made history by being the 1st 1AA school to beat a top ten Div.1A school. I guess the case could be made for claiming to be the biggest upset in NCAA football history.
MavsRock 21 Report Share Posted September 2, 2007 [ QUOTE ] Appalachian state 34 michigan 32 [/ QUOTE ] All coaches should hang this in their locker game before they play an "inferior opponent". Like I said on the high school board not a week ago, ANYONE can lose on ANY given day.
bluefieldRocks 14 Report Share Posted September 2, 2007 Kirk Herbstriet was talking before the game asking why michigan would play such a cupcake team. Then after the game lee corso gave Herbstreit a plate full of cupcakes..haha
wvuraiders 10 Report Share Posted September 2, 2007 now that cupcake thing was very funny..lol...VT and WVU should be glad they played ok in their first games...The appy state game shows how college football and recruiting is becoming very even across the country with the exception of USC...Teams are doing great jobs of developing people into their systems..i think we pay too much attention to five star, 4 star..etc...recruits.
