Greenbrier West is a very competitive public school in Class A. They, like every other Class A public school in WV, can't compete with the Catholic schools. They will be just like Liberty-Raleigh in Class AA though, load up on cupcakes, get fat, make the playoffs with a 7-3 record and then lose by 60 in the first round. Bluefield_Rules 46 Report Share Posted December 3, 2007 I don't if many people are aware of this or not, but the former largest high school in WV, Jefferson, split much like Cave Spring did several years ago. The newly formed high school will be called Washington and is scheduled to open its doors next fall. And did anyone notice the big jump on enrollment for Shady and Independence? Shady went from 511 to 596 and Independence from 522 to 606. That's quite a jump considering the area of those two schools. And don't forget that Iaeger and Big Creek will be consolidating into a single high school very soon. The new school was scheduled to open next fall, but I believe it has been pushed back to 2009. [/ QUOTE ] I doubt they'll play Bluefield, but I could see them possibly playing James Monroe again. They'd make a nice replacement for Narrows or Pikeview.
