Grundy10 10 Report Share Posted December 29, 2007 Is Martinsville that down this season?
GMan 3,569 Report Share Posted December 29, 2007 Martinsville is down some this year but the River Ridge is LOADED!!! Hidden Valley, Salem, Blacksburg, Pulaski Co., and Cave Spring all have the potential to make and win the Region Tournament...unfortunately for them, a couple of them won't survive getting out of the RR District Tournament. Christiansburg, the worst team in the River Ridge, could very likely win the Southwest District this year. Martinsville and Bassett both could easily win the SWD any year. swvasport_7 10 Report Share Posted December 29, 2007 sounds like blacksburg is a powerhouse this year
GMan 3,569 Report Share Posted December 29, 2007 Blacksburg was picked to finish second in the RR behind Hidden Valley but Salem may have something to say about that. The Spartans played Hidden Valley tough last night in one of the Roanoke-area tournaments, losing by only six...HV's closest game of the season so far. pdfan 101 Report Share Posted December 30, 2007 AAA Franklin Co handed Blacksburg their first loss last night 84-72 to win the Northside Invitational,Mavahi lost to Lord Botetourt 63-59 in the consolation game.In the Piedmont this year it should be hands down Bassett(who have split with Franklin Co this year) to win the district with the Dogs and MV battling for second. With out a doubt region champs should be Hidden Valley who beat defending AA state champs and now AAA Wm.Fleming 74-71 in OT last night in the Holiday Hoopla Tourney at Salem with Va Tech commit Ben Boggs scoring 29. They are going to be tough for anyone in the region to beat except for one of the other River Ridge teams who might pull an upset at home against them. The RR is a loaded district from top to bottom this year with no easy games especially on each teams home court.
