Wrong. Both Will Cole and Cody Wassum were starters last year, Cody on both sides of the ball and an all-state performer at linebacker. Isaiah Manns would have seen time last year if he hadn't reinjured his knee. Bryce Pannell and CJ Wallace are both new to the team but each saw a good amount of time in the scrimmage against Nitro. Like you said, this is an incredibly young team with only six seniors, so the future looks bright.

I forgot about Cody and also skipped him in my counting of seniors. Regardless, it's a very young team, which means leadership is going to be huge for them.

Who is starting on the O-line/D-line for Bluefield??? Unless the weights are incorrect, other than a couple of overweight kids, I don't see much "beef" potential...

The line wasn't all too beefy last year if you compared them to most teams we played; in most games we were very outsized up front.

Offensive line: John Gibson(T), Keith Ferguson(G), Kory Sadler©, Parker Perdue(G), Kevin Davidson(T)

Defensive line: John Gibson(DE), CJ Wallace(NT), Keith Ferguson(DE)

Bluefield's O-line last season was MUCH bigger than this one...a 180lb tackle might be a bit of concern...

As I said a month ago or so, the 2007 offensive line will be, and is, comparable size-wise to the 2004 offensive line. Year after year Bluefield's smaller offensive lines have been success in getting the best of bigger, slower offensive lines. The smaller, quicker lines have worked well for the Bluefield over the past 5-6 years. We'll see if that continues this season, but just b/c they're small doesn't mean they cannot get the job done.

Actually the 2004 offensive line was much smaller than the 2008 projected starting line. The guards on the 04 Championship team were probably only 160 lbs. (the Seirs twins). When they pulled out and hit somebody I am sure they thought the weighed much more than that. Very tough kids. I remember that line moving some very huge kids in the Martinsburg game that probably outweighed them close to 100 lbs. per man. It was incredible.

Ok I was thinking of Chris. Either way, he wasn't too big either and made first team. He was definitely the smallest on the line at the North/South game. That Brett Curtis guy from Wayne was a monster and looked way bigger than 310 in the game.

Should be an interesting matchup. Graham's tremendous size against Bluefield's speed. Does speed always win? We'll see on friday night.

Speed won when Graham played Christiansburg. But, I find it hard to believe that Bluefield would have as much talent as C'Burg with such a young team. Can't wait til friday!!

Well i think the best way to look at it is that Bluefield doesnt rebuild, they reload. And honestly thats the truth.

Just because a team is young doesn't mean it isn't talented. It just means that the talent isn't as experienced...
