olewave 44 Report Share Posted February 19, 2009 This new division system is horrible. The regular season means next to nothing now. When only 2 teams from each district made the regional tournament it gave EVERYBODY a reason to want to win the regular season to get the automatic bid. Then EVERYBODY played balls to the wall in the tournament trying to get the last bid. Now, even though im glad they made it, Grundy wins 1 game in the tournament, half of their regular season district win total, and they are in the region tournament. Making the region used to be something that you could look at as a great accomplishment, now its almost impossible NOT to make it. It is little league on a high school level. Now every kid gets to play and get some type of trophy. This keeps parents busy trying to understand why the colleges are not giving their kid a scholarship. The end result is the kid made the playoffs along with every other kid in the state, and twenty years from now, he can tell everyone how he lead his 3-17 team to the regional playoffs!
