I want to take this opportunity to say, Falcons, you had a good season. Didn't end as you would have hoped, but congratulations on letting this armchair fan listen and pass along stats on the web. Fortunately, should Abingdon go to Regionals, they will have earned that opportunity because they only lost 3 games in the region all season......and although 2 of those were to Marion......it was still one less loss than you all had. Anyone can have a bad game on a given night, that is why seeding and ranking exists.......teams should be rewarded for what they have accomplished throughout the season. When only 2 teams from each district made the regional tournament it gave EVERYBODY a reason to want to win the regular season to get the automatic bid. Then EVERYBODY played balls to the wall in the tournament trying to get the last bid. Now, even though im glad they made it, Grundy wins 1 game in the tournament, half of their regular season district win total, and they are in the region tournament. Perhaps that explains the lack of attendance, etc. at these games, especially in the early rounds.....it just doesn't have the same impact as it once did!
