BeaverHokie 35 Report Share Posted October 3, 2009 You practice it when it's not expected so you can do it when it is. Double whammy is that the apparent backup QB (Lilly) was the starting FB, so we lose at both positions when he moves up.
Fighton_3 10 Report Share Posted October 3, 2009 (edited) I noticed that richlands ran the fly to number 8 a couple times. It's funny that you brought up the good coach taking advantage of the weaknesses when they see them. Reminded me of last years playoff game when the strong kid was on muncy. They should have ran the fly, but you're right that's what makes mance a truely great coach. Edited October 3, 2009 by Fighton_3

Guest lookoutmountain Report Share Posted October 3, 2009 Gate City is class They take a knee with first and goal from the two with over a minute left which would have made the final score anywhere from 28, 29, or 30 to 6. Bluefield is banged up, but Gate City's line play is extremely physical. Gate City isn't flashy, no wide open O, just solid and fundamentally sound and they've been that way for 50 years. Bluefield, as I predicted at the beginning of the season will finish 8 and 2 in the regular season with its losses coming to Charlotte Country Day and Gate City on the road. The Beavers make it at least to the state semi's and probably will play for a state title.
