My how things have changed.
player99 10 Report Share Posted November 25, 2009 why was it that Lebanon has been a member of the SWD, Hogo, LPD, Highlands
RichlandsAlum 678 Author Report Share Posted November 25, 2009 why was it that Lebanon has been a member of the SWD, Hogo, LPD, Highlands  Because their enrollment has bounced up and down within the bandwidth of the "line" between A and AA so many times. And whenever push has come to shove, the Pioneers have been the ones who have to move. In terms of pure politics, Lebanon appears to be the most isolated high school in SW Virginia. player99 10 Report Share Posted November 25, 2009 i understand that the enrollment but why not stay consistant with say join the SWD whenever they play up and the LPD when they are single a. what was the purpose of going from say the swd to the highlands. don't know if that makes much sense. it might be that they can only go to the district that allowed them to move in with them at that given year. Â Probably has less to do with Lebanon than whichever district has the greatest need to plug holes at the time. When they bounced back up to AA the second time, the Highlands was in greater need of numbers than was the SWD. (There was also some very bad blood between the Russell County schools administration and Richlands then, which may have had some impact, but I doubt that was a major factor.) Â Same is probably true when they were relegated to Group A. While Lebanon seems more immune to the kind of "bouncing" pressures that they were under previously, it will be interesting to see what happens in the future. When a good chunk of the current SWD drops, the whole landscape could possibly shift again.
