BeaverHokie 35 Report Share Posted September 18, 2010 You also have to understand CCD isn't a "normal" high school either...its a private school that can recruit the best talent from the Charlotte area... Down here in Georgia, they used to have a rule that the private schools had to play up a level of classification, due to the advantages they have. While it sounds like CCD is not out there actively getting mercenaries to play for them each year, I would guess (but it is a wild guess) that they could set up programs at the school in the name of "diversity" to bring in inner-city and/or disadvantaged kids with scholarships. If they play football...even better, I'm sure. :-) But even outside of that, the rich families have the resources to send the kids to football camps each year, get the kids prepared to play. So...now that the home-and-home is done, is this school off our future schedule? While I think it is educational to play them, to aim high, I'm not sure it's worth the loss, and the potential risk of injury (like Beckett last year) to play a game with so little bearing on the WV playoffs.
