The radical left has historically included the Socialists, the IWW and a few dramatically unsuccessful groups like the Yuppies and the Black Panthers.

Conversely some would say the the radical right includes the Moral Majority, some Evangelical groups, the John Birch Society and the Klan (especially in the 1920s.) All are far more organized and successful than their leftists counterparts. The radical right groups managed to get large numbers of left of center leaning groups branded Communist Sympathizers in the 1950s. Some would argue that the Radical Right has its own mainstream media source; FOX News. (I think Murdoch is a cynical buzzard who cares less for politics and more for sensationalism that makes him $$$.)

If you want to throw the "Progressives" in the mix, they were mostly center-left to center-right intellectuals. Some of their ideas and theories of "Social Engineering" have been perverted by extremists on both sides. (i.e. eugenics Nazi Germany and forced sterilizations in the US until the 1970s.)

Obviously, I am not including the true fringe groups that are the most frightening. They prefer to stay veiled.

SEIU, CAIR, ACORN, Media Matters, Moveon, Greenpeace, ect are all radical left outfits that are much more well organized and much better funded than all but perhaps the pro-life movement (which they are probably on par with).

These organizations also are deeply imbedded in our government.

Teddy Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson were rather left leaning progressives. Some would argue that Roosevelt was more of a center right progressive, but nonetheless, a progressive.

When comparing organization, I do not think that the conservative right is as organized as most leftist groups. You mention a few right fringe groups that were well organized, but when it comes to organization with a strong financial base the left have long been the leaders in the U.S.

Take into consideration the AFL-CIO, the NEA, the Weather Underground, the Rainbow Coalition, MoveOn.org, Code Pink, The Tides Foundation, The Democratic Socialist, STudents for a Democratic America, the Greens and several, several more left wing groups that have enormous cash accounts. These groups are very influential and although some of them are fringe groups their influence is huge based on the amount of money that they have.

I agree that their is disinformation taking place on both sides, I just feel that the radical left has been at the job longer and that they are more effective with their propaganda.

Just a few conservative groups that that are just as well organized as the liberal groups American Conservative Union, Eagle Forum, CPAC, Cato Institute, Heritage Foundation, Focus on the Family, Citizens United, and the Hoover Institution. All are well organized and well funded and deeply influential.

Both extremes have their big guns that love to lob rhetorical bombs at the other.
