Lance 228 Author Report Share Posted February 18, 2012 so what do you think at this point? odds on us winning it all? also...so Grundy could have 6 champs? I thought Hankins and McCowan could only get 3rd at best?
VHSLhelper 571 Report Share Posted February 18, 2012 that update must've been b4 the rd. was over, when we had that long break. I really don't know what to expect tom... saw some REAL big surprises tonight... haven't had time to let it sink in and figure it out yet... been doing the paper thing. I DO know that I won't be coming back to the hotel after the semis... too many consi matches that are worth 5 pts. each to watch and cheer for. VHSLhelper 571 Report Share Posted February 18, 2012 Manassas Park held a 7 point lead on the Wave after the quarter-finals of the VHSL Group A wrestling tournament at the Salem Civic Center. Both the Cougars and the Wave will have six wrestlers in this morning's semi-finals, with the only head-to-head matchup occuring in the 220 pound semi-finals, where Grundy's Jake McCowan will have a rematch with Soph. Corey Jenkins, who pulled out a 5-2 decision over defending 189 pound champ Eric McDaniel of Floyd County in the quarters. McCowan & Jenkins met in the season-opening Forest Park Duals, which McCowan won 7-3. Grundy's other semi-finalists are Austin Compton (120), Justin Street (132), Trey Smith (138), Tyler McClanahan (170) and Kensey Hawkins (195). Also making the semis from Region D were Va. High's Joe Crum and J.I. Burton's Colby Dean at 145, Lee's Christian Robbins and Eastside's Trevor Belcher at 285 and Central's Drew Collins at 195. Three Rural Retreat wrestlers are also in he semis : T.J. Mitchell (113), Cory Williams (170) and Derek Yates (182), along with Holston's Cole Lowe (152). techfan 43 Report Share Posted February 18, 2012 I think Grundy will pull it out because the will have more individual champs but it's going to be close.

Lance 228 Author Report Share Posted February 18, 2012 I've only got 2 Park finalists : Faban Rodriguez (113) and Myles Carlos (145) vs. Colby Dean you are correct, they said 3 on the radio then said it was only two later on. It's hard to make out much of anything on the radio between them getting excited and it cutting out.
