Coal Covered Rebel 6 Report Share Posted December 8, 2014 Who will be the champion from the east?
Deleted Account 5,203 Report Share Posted December 8, 2014 Altavista, as I've predicted since looking at this team and saying to myself: "wow, these guys are really f***ing good". starcityfootballfan
BlueRazor 1,147 Report Share Posted December 8, 2014 I agree with UVA here. By at least two scores would be my opinion. AltaVista -35 Essex -
redtiger 1,742 Report Share Posted December 8, 2014 I think Altavista. Im hoping Essex so I can say that every team that beat Haysi in the Semis went on to win state.

Coal Covered Rebel 6 Author Report Share Posted December 9, 2014 I imagine Altavista by 3 TD's from what I saw @ the Honaker game. I know I've gave you guys a tough time and still do, about the tigers, but Honaker was legit. I feel they played well with Altavista until the fourth quarter, given how damn raw Altavista is in the pass D. I don't think Haysi or Honaker folks should feel any shame. Hell you made it to the semi's and that's something of a miracle in itself to Rebels like me. Must be a great feeling to even be that close to knocking on the door. Go Rebels! I imagine the Clintwood/Haysi mutation will produce some kind of monster next year. I fear for the lives of those on the scheldule. Who will be the head coach? If not Colley then I'll be highly pissed. Coach Colley is G.O.A.T. in SWVA.
Deleted Account 5,203 Report Share Posted December 9, 2014 Coach Colley is G.O.A.T. in SWVA. LOL, no. And not even by the bizarre geographical borders of Appy Dawg, either. Ryan4VT

Ryan4VT 4,557 Report Share Posted December 9, 2014 LOL, no. And not even by the bizarre geographical borders of Appy Dawg, either. It's a debatable thing, but Colley isn't in the top 5. Carlock and Robbins are two the immediately come to mind with me.

I would put Carlock, Robbins, Fry, Turner, and Cummins ahead of Colley simply because of State Titles. But the argument can be made that Colley has done more with less. All of those guys had D1 players at one time or another, Colley has not. I would put Hubbard, Mullins and Colobro right behind him. hhstigers7327 217 Report Share Posted December 9, 2014 That's exactly right! Colley will always have my vote. Not sure anyone could have had the success that he has had at haysi!
redtiger 1,742 Report Share Posted December 9, 2014 For what its worth if I had to pick one it would be Colley with Turner a close 2nd. Both were very competitive with a lot less talent than the other guys although some of those Appalachia teams were loaded. As a play caller its Colley and then everyone else for me
