Most coaches would allow him to practice but not play not taking other transgressions into account. Administrators are trying to be to politically correct. Administrators are trying to be to politically correct.I think you hit the nail on the head as far as how situations like this should be dealt with. Any discipline has to start with the parent. Problem is, now days many parents will take a position opposite the school/coach/principal and defend the actions of their kid. Once that happens, it's no longer the kid that has to defend his or her actions...it ends up being the school or coach having to defend why they are disciplining the kid. That's a parenting problem, and it is a common scenario when dealing with issues like this. With school systems being strapped for cash and funding, many times they will look for the path of least resistance...especially if a parent threatens to sue.
