Gate City hosting Ridgeview

Gate City really looking out there tonight.  They are up on RV at the half 39-23.  The Blue Devils have been playing smothering defense and they are really shooting the ball well from 3.

GC is good man, the game in Scott County v. Union should be a dandy. This would eliminate RV from winning the M7 IIRC.

Union was up 55-31 after three against Wise.

Looks like Graham and Tazewell went final.  It was impossible to tell the score from the NFHS feed as they never got the score up on the feed, but it was bad.  I flipped over in the 2nd half and I'm guessing, the final score was like a 25 point vicinity win for Graham.  They beat the heck out of the Dogs tonight at Tazewell.

Gate City went final.  Again, impossible to tell the score as the feed doesn't display it correctly.  I think this was a 25 point type vicinity win for Gate City also.  Game wasn't close.  Just a complete blow out.  RV's half court defense was really shaky.  They left GC shooters wide open all game long and GC made em pay for it.  If that GC and Union game back at GC is on NFHS, I'm gonna watch it.  I still think the Bears take it by 15.

I believe the Union final was a 72-42 victory over Wise. Both teams, GC and Union, play a smothering, physical defense so I wouldn't be shocked if the next meeting is a very low scoring, grind it out affair. Union has the best player and seems to be a tad more consistent on offense but I wouldn't count GC out. Don't be surprised if a ton of free throws are shot and the teams get calmed down by the officials at some point. Not in any way of malice or ill intent, just purely physical smothering defense.

GC final was 68-51 GC, Graham won 61-33, VHS cruised easily over Marion 65-45, RC beat Eastside 52-42, JIB beat TW and Battle beat Lee. All boys.

Nobody really legitimately thought Ridgeview was going to win the district man... I thought their ceiling was third.  But, I doubt they'll even get that now.  They're probably fourth best team in the district.  I thought they were pretty even with Gate City, but after last night, it's clear Gate City is better than the Pack.

I think most didn't I agree. But it seemed like a couple RV fans thought they could finish as high as second. I'm not trying to down them, they're a good team, just not a great one.
