SwvaOG 601 Report Share Posted April 14, 2023 People are holding this year's Abingdon squad to their typical standard and they just aren't. If Gibson was on the mound, it changes the game drastically. Plus you add his bat to the their lineup. Beating Abingdon is always a good win and is tough to do but this is the year to get some licks in on them. I'd like to see a best two-of-three series between Battle and Lebanon or at least a single game where their top pitching lines up against each other. Those two are the best teams in SWVA with Abingdon/Tazewell at 3 and 4 interchangeably. It looks like the Mountain 7 is down this year and the SWD might be as well. In the M7, Gate City, Abingdon and Central are down from their normal level, Ridgeview is up and Lee and Union are about their same level.
