pigskincleat 13 Report Share Posted January 5, 2007 The word out of Richlands is that Jeff Hurst is going to pay for the rings. This was the only way he could get a new one for the one he has through his nose.
buzzsawBeaver 12 Report Share Posted January 5, 2007 a lot present day and more recent youths are so selfish and undeservedly arrogant it's not surprising the attitudes are what they are.
Hillbilly 14 Report Share Posted January 5, 2007 Be very careful in letting someone pay for those rings. You could compromise the student's amateur athletic status. Â From the VHSL Handbook Rule 28-8-1 Â (g) Accepts merchandise, prizes or awards having a retail value greater than that permitted by the amateur athletic governing body regulating amateur status in that sport. If that governing body has no limit, the maximum value of merchandise, prizes or awards shall be $500 per event.

lee 10 Report Share Posted January 9, 2007 The "turf" money is coming from another person that is using the money on more than one school. I am positive that the players and coaches will get rings.

Flea 27 Report Share Posted January 14, 2007 As far as the amature (sp) status is concerned just look at LaBron. This is not exactly like his situation but the NCAA definitely didn't like him getting a free shirt for doing a newspaper ad for a sporting goods store.
