CarrollCavs78 10 Report Share Posted January 24, 2007 I received this email from the Office of admissions: Dear Dennis: Congratulations again on your admission to the University. We require all admitted students to submit midyear grades to us online. To submit your grades, please log into your UNC homepage at www.admissions.unc.edu with your confidential username and password. From your homepage, click on the link under "Important Updates Just for You". Please do not ask your guidance counselor to submit your midyears on your behalf. Instead, we require that you submit accurate and complete grades online by February 12. I haven't received an official letter of acceptance but it could have been delayed in the mail. Either way i'm really pumped right now!!!!
dcecilgolf 11 Report Share Posted January 24, 2007 Congratulations!!!! You are talking about UNC-Chapel Hill, right?? Why would they make you submit your grades, every school I know of required the grades to be sent by the guidance counselor in an official transcript? That doesn’t make any sense!!!?? It always feels good to get accepted into your school of choice.
GHS06 10 Report Share Posted January 24, 2007 Mid year grades are sent by the student at most colleges. Final grades/transcripts are sent by the guidance counselor most of the time either at the end of the year, or the beginning of the next year. GHS06 10 Report Share Posted January 24, 2007 i almost applied to Duke and Harvard, but the application and what you had to send with it was ridiculous. they wanted like 7 letters of recommendation and 5 essays apiece. if im too lazy for the application, im too lazy for the school. CarrollCavs78 10 Author Report Share Posted January 25, 2007 Well... I just got this email back from them... Dear Dennis: We apologize for the confusion caused by this email. As a result of a technical error that we are still trying to diagnose, we incorrectly sent you an email that was intended for our Early Notification applicants. As a Regular Notification applicant, your application is still under review by the Admissions Committee. We still require you to submit your midyear grades online by February 12. Once again, we are very sorry for the confusion this has caused. Please contact us if you have any questions. Office of Undergraduate Admissions UNC-Chapel Hill Soooo close I felt the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat all within a couple hours. Oh well there is still a chance that i could get in. dcecilgolf 11 Report Share Posted January 25, 2007 I was just curious because you all are on block schedule. Since you applied to UNC, I figured you had a respectable class load and I was just wondering how it compared.

CarrollCavs78 10 Author Report Share Posted January 25, 2007 Yea, my sister attened UNCC for a while and then my other sister actually went to UNC Chapel Hill. She's the reason i like UNC so much. I was hoping that by having good grades, decent extracuricular activities and a sibling that was an alumni i could get in...but now i'm thinking it's a shot in the dark. dcecilgolf 11 Report Share Posted January 25, 2007 What's your GPA and SAT? UNC out of state is really hard to be accepted, you need some really high scores. The fact that your sister is an alumna will really help.

I went to grad school there and had a really great experience overall. Just curious as to what the undergrad perspective is like -- particularly from an out of state student. bluefieldRocks 14 Report Share Posted January 26, 2007 She wasnt an out of state. My grandmother and grandfather moved to charlotte about 25 years ago. my sister moved in with my grandma about 15 years ago. She attended Independence High School, the same high school thats won a million football championships and stuff. Then she just starting going to UNCC She really liked it. She met alot of new people, she majored in Physcal Therpy or something like that.
