bluefieldRocks 14 Report Share Posted September 2, 2004 I think that bluefield should take princeton pretty easy this year, rather than last when it was a nail bighter the whole game.

BigD4VT 11 Report Share Posted September 2, 2004 [ QUOTE ] Well BigD4VT looks like u might be 1-1 again with that blowout pick of Richlands over Tazewell. [/ QUOTE ] You might be right but my reasoning is: 1) Tazewell gave up a bunch of points to Carroll County's young offense. I have to think they give up more to an experienced Richlands offense. Especially with Tatum coming back. 2) The Richlands offensive line, provided they get the procedure problems worked out, is as good as any in this area. 3) Cain Ringstaff. Gate City actually contained him (with 8-9 in the box) about as well as possible but he still had 118 yards and two touchdowns. 4) Tazewell did manage to put up some points but CC has a young defense. Richlands on the other hand has experience and depth at every defensive position. It is the best Richlands defense I have seen in quite a while. 5) Special teams. Richlands blocked a punt against Honaker and have been very close just about everytime. Jeremy Keene is Mr. Automatic with PATS and has good range on FG's. Caleb Jennings is a threat to score everytime he returns a kick. 6) Coaching. This is the area I'm not sure about because I don't know much about Coach Wyatt. But he has been around a long time so he must know what he's doing, and he did obviously have his kids playing well against Carroll County. If Richlands gets the penalty problems worked out it will say a lot about Greg Mance. The game with Gate City was a good one and Richlands will not dwell on the loss. Many people (mostly from Grundy ) seem to think Tazewell is going to win this game. Some even think it will be a blowout for them. But in IMHO Tazewell will have to play a perfect game and Richlands will have to play at least as bad as they played against Tazewell last year to avoid the blowout that I predicted. Bluefield_Rules 46 Report Share Posted September 2, 2004 Oh, can I play? Parkersburg South 20 Woodrow Wilson 24 (Upset of the week in WV) James Monroe 34 Shady Spring 28 Mount View 34 Man 13 William Fleming 7 Magna Vista 6 (Game of the week in Virginia) Pulaski Co. 35 Northside 7 Blacksburg 13 Graham 20 (Graham's play surprises everyone again this week) Richlands 28 Tazewell 29 (Tazewell goes for two again to win the closing seconds) Bluefield/Princeton--I'll stick to my tradition of not picking a score for Bluefield games. If the Beavers come out focused and perform like they're capable of this could get ugly. Princeton isn't as good as Graham nor do they have the speed of Graham, which spells big trouble against Bluefield's speed.

Lance 228 Author Report Share Posted September 5, 2004 Just wanted to say I was wrong about the Tazewell vs. Richlands game. Good job to Richlands for putting them away, although I think it turned out to be a harder thing to do than a lot of people thought it would.
