Last 2 Union games were bad. One crew was flag happy, the other couldn't find their flags. Of course, when these 2 teams get together, the flags tend to fly!
-
Lol Can't argue with that. Will say that I've gone back and watched some of the games on NFHS and felt that refs are very quick to call penalties on them. Don't get me wrong, Union commits a lot of penalties, but a few were ridiculous.

I'd like to say that Union has cleaned everything up, but I can't. Maybe not as bad as the first Graham game, but they are still doing things that shouldn't be happening after 12 games. Definitely want a clear winner and not a bunch of "if only" regrets after Saturday.
-
Can't take anything away from Graham's D, they're tremendous, but my opinion was that Union beat Union in the 2nd half of the first game more than Graham did. Every time the ball started moving, a false start or holding call would put them into uncomfortable positions. That forced the Bears into desperation passes. I could keep going, but no reason to beat a dead horse. Just hoping the same mistakes aren't repeated. If they are, no way Union wins.

Can Union stop the wildcat on defense, while also coming up with more than 3 plays of offense...that work? If they can do both of those, I think the Bears win. If they can do one or the other, they have a shot, but less likely. Probably more important to get the offense going. Ridgeview could have beaten Union had a bounce or 2 went their way, but somehow, Bears got lucky. Union's schedule has been more competitive, and I hope that helps in this game. I know the players will be looking for a little revenge, just hoping the coaches are up to the challenge. Going to be a hard hitting game!

Kinda like Galax all these years. Even if you have to travel, that tough schedule prepares you for a game like Saturday, and if fortunate enough, next Saturday. Glenvar has not had a difficult schedule this year, and it may not be fair, but I'll be happy to travel there nonetheless.
-
Glenvar should because they have the better record.
-
Anyone else notice that they called Ridgeview, "Ridgeway" multiple times. IDK what all the announcer does, but I'm almost positive I've heard his voice on football championship games before.

School boards in Va are supposed to be nonpartisan, and I really don't think it comes down to politics anyways. It's more about hiring family members or doing favors for friends by creating jobs out of thin air. I see that a lot.
-
School boards do some absolutely SHADY stuff. That's why they get so defensive and overreact when people start asking questions.
-
I'm not sure if the refs wait for a complaint from the coach or what in those instances.

I can't speak for all stadiums, but I'm unaware of any train horns blowing at Union, while the opposing team is over the ball, SINCE the VHSl changed the rule on noise makers a few years ago. Cowbells, yes, but not train horns. The rule also states that the band isn't supposed to play in the same situation. I know that Union's does not, but many others do.

Absolutely! Before that happened, I really thought the Falcons were going to win. That was a huge momentum changer.

Wonder if they ride around in a DeLorean?

As soon as I saw BlueDevil4Life pick Grundy in a blowout, I knew Rye Cove would win because I think he picked GC to go to Salem this year too. Lol

Just a heads-up. High for Bluefield on Saturday is 31 as of now. Better not bring the flip-flops. Lol

Due to the weather, it was expected to be messy, and it was for both teams. Just seemed that RV's mistakes were more costly.

Abingdon up 23-21 over William Byrd with 3:57 to go
