  1. Just basing my opinion off the season the Beavers had last year, I see them winning 6 games this year maybe. It's rare to see Bluefield have an off year like last year because there is that saying of Bluefield doesn't rebuild, they reload. I am not sure who is returning or who they lost but if the team is anything like they were last year, especially having a tougher schedule this year in my opinion, 5-6 wins for Bluefield is what I see for this upcoming season. Hope I am wrong because every year after that first game I wish them well and hope they win the rest.
  2. I am guessing from where last year Graham had to host Richlands on a Thursday is why Bluefield has a Thursday night game this year.
  3. Until the parents at Tazewell realize that they aren't coaches from the stands and that it takes time to turn a program around, Tazewell will continue to have losing seasons. Tazewell does have a proud program and it has always impressed me how they could be 1-6 but their stands are still full every Friday night. I am a firm believer that this program does not need to be rebuilt, it needs to be restored. Good luck to Coach Harris, even as a Graham fan I would like to see Tazewell start having success again, just not against us haha
  4. I am a big fan of the shot clock idea in high school basketball. I don't think that it would make players take stupid or unnecessary shots but teach them the difference between a smart and a dumb shot. Also, I have seen many games in the past where there could be about 3-4 min left in the 4th quarter and the winning team can run as much time off the clock without penalty at all. While this is a smart way to win the game because there are no written rules against it, I believe if you implement a shot clock and lets say a team is down by 10 with about 4 min left to go in the game they have a much better opportunity of making a comeback or at least making it more interesting than just watching the winning team play catch for the final min. A shot clock needs to happen
  5. That made me laugh way harder than it should have haha
  6. Is the new Southwest District coming into play this upcoming season? And if so, (other than Richlands lol) who are the favorites to win it or at least give the Blues a run for their money? Never to early to start talking football.
  7. I know it would never happen but I remember back in high school when they shut down Pocy and the students had to decide between Graham or Tazewell. It brought up interesting conversations of what would happen if Graham and Tazewell were ever to consolidate and build a mega high school right in the middle of Bluefield and Tazewell. Always thought if it ever did happen down the road they could name it East River High School haha
  8. There is a difference between deserving an award and earning one. No doubt that Coach Mance earned this award. A very big congrats to him and you folks down in Richlands
  9. Hard to beat the Beavers at the Armory. I look for a great back and forth game and then Beaver pulls away in the 4th period and win by 10. If Graham can look over the fact that they are playing Bluefield it could be a different story. Can't be intimidated by the name
  10. Is there an online broadcast of the game?
  11. Good luck Blues! Take the storm down there and bring the trophy back to Swva!
  12. Thank you and congrats on a great win! Time for Richlands to bring that trophy back to SWVA where it belongs
  13. Congrats to the Blues, very well deserved win. Y'all showed up and smacked us in the mouth. I will say that I have never been so disappointed in a group of coaches. Not taking anything away at all from Richlands but Graham coaching and play calling was abismal all night long. Good luck the rest of the way Blues, I'll be pulling for you. And to the Graham G-Men players thank you for one hell of a ride and season! Sad the coaches couldn't rise to the level they needed to be at
  14. Graham being out coached and Richlands looks like they want it more. Serious adjustments need to be made on offense
  15. Martinsville was one of the better teams we have played but Richlands is still the best team we've played this season. Martinsville had a huge line both offensively and defensively and I think they would give Richlands a good game like they did Graham.
  16. Finally it is GAME DAY! Let's Go G-Men, beat the Blues!
  17. I am hoping for a great game but I can't shake this feeling that no matter who the victor is, it's not going to be close. Hope I am very wrong, but I see a final score more like 49-21
  18. I remember them doing it last year as well. Mixed feelings about it but one thing is for sure, if you're going to talk and taunt before the game, you better be ready to bring it. Especially against a team that has had our number the past decade. The first game I felt like our guys got comfortable with a decent size lead. I've learned from watching Richlands you can't let off the gas or they will find a way to comeback. Can't let off the gas this time. I believe coaching and coaching adjustments will play a huge part just like last game. Mance is one hell of a coach and he out coached Palmer last game. Need a solid effort from the team and coaches
  19. it was a great game man. All the credit in the world to yalls team. Easily could have gone the other way. Safe travels back home
  20. I look for a bigger crowd than Graham/Beaver to be honest. No doubt the two best teams from our area will be playing. Wouldn't have it any other way
  21. Good luck with your basketball season
  22. I let my team do my talking, see you dawgs tonight
  23. Posted before checking the forecast lol. Maybe next week we bring out the blankets and hand warmers lol
  24. The 12th man needs to show up tonight at Mitchell, these boys have said all year long they feed off of our crowd. G-Men Nation it's time to get out the blankets and hand warmers and show up!
