Nothing but absolute respect for the Tazewell Bulldogs. The score at the end of the night will not show how hard these young men played tonight. Give it a couple more years and Tazewell will be very very good
-
No disrespect towards the Tazewell players or the bulldog faithful, but this game won't be close at all. Considering what Tazewell has, they have done well this year and the future looks very bright. Richlands is now 1-4, and many people including myself thought that they would get back to their winning ways last Friday against Bluefield. Richlands is hungry for a win and I just see them using Tazewell as a statement win. They want people to realize that they are still Richlands and that they are still capable of beating down their opponents, and unfortunately for Tazewell, they will be that team Friday night. Emotions and just the rivalry itself will make this look close for a quarter, but Richlands wins by 3-4 touchdowns.

This will be one of the better games of the year in my opinion. No one can argue that these two programs are two of the top programs in our area. I have seen Bluefield play but I have only listened to Richlands on the radio. This game will be back and forth all night, but I have to go with the Blues in this one. If you look at the schedule of Bluefield so far and then look at Richlands, there is no debate and no comparison on who has had the tougher schedule. Other than Graham, Bluefield's schedule so far has been a cake walk. That is why I give the edge to Richlands in this game. Their strength of schedule will have them prepared for the Beavers and the rest of their games from this point forward. Bluefield is a run heavy offense. If Richlands can contain Mookie and tackle Truck and not let him break away for long gains, Richlands will win this game. Bluefield has a very underrated defense and they tackle very well. Richlands needs to keep their offense on the field as long as possible and wear down the defense and they will be just fine. If the game was being played at Richlands, I would say Richlands wins by 14-17 points, but with it being at Mitchell, they will win by 3-7 points.

Who has the better chance of knocking off Richlands and winning the SWD? Graham or Marion?

Predictions for this game? I don't know much about Central. I look for Graham to have a strong showing after a much needed bye week. We had a few players that needed the week to get healthy.

This is 100% the truth. Teams don't drop Bluefield because they are good, they drop Bluefield because they run up the score and don't show any class when they win. Richlands has been great for awhile now and you don't see teams dropping them from their schedules like you do Bluefield, because you won't see Mance run up the score when the opponent is clearly out matched. It is a yearly struggle for Bluefield to fill their schedule and in some cases when they don't and only have 9 games on the schedule they wonder why.

A slow start by Giles will give Narrows an early lead, then after halftime Giles wakes up and they win by 14-21. After seeing Giles play last Friday, it was a scary difference between their first half compared to their second half play. Still early in the season but if the slow starts continue to happen for Giles, they will end up losing a couple of games they shouldn't.

I also didn't see any "trash talk" at the Beaver game. I believe this whole thing about Graham trash talking has been blown way out of proportion. Last year, before they would come out on to the field, they would be in a huddle and would chant a few times "come get some" then they would make their entrance. The only game I thought it got out of hand was the Richlands playoff game. With this being said, I am not a fan of this, but to classify it as trash talk and disrespect, and for it to be made such a big deal to some people blows my mind. This is football, there is going to be "trash talking" and I would bet my bottom dollar if Graham would have been losing last year instead of winning, not a word would have been said about there little pre game chant. No disrespect meant to you stu_bean, but if you are worried about Graham trash talking and being disrespectful, you are in for a surprise when yall play the Beavers this year.

So I know that it isn't a game even on the radar this week, but it is still a county rivalry. What is everyone expecting in this game? I am curious to see if Graham will experiment with a QB change this game or not.

Is this game at Union or Richlands?

GC-Richlands, Graham-Bluefield, Gile-BBurg

I think your thoughts on Graham are 100% correct. We will win some games this year but a lot will be closer than they should be if we don't make a QB change. Cam is an excellent athlete and would make big noise if he was in as a wide receiver or even a running back, but QB is not his position. Graham had opportunity after opportunity on offense and couldn't move the ball. Not taking anything away from Bluefield's defense but the play calling all night for Graham was very predictable. I don't understand how you don't design more plays around Cooke and get him in the open field and space to create some opportunity. If you take away the fumble return for a td, Graham only scores once and that is unacceptable with the talent we have. I will say I am very proud and pleased with our defense. Did a very good job. If Graham's coaches will make a few changes the season could be really special, but if the line up stays the way it is, I see a 6-4 season. -

For all that have been wondering, I just talked to a parent of one of the players and they assured me 100% that Reed will be starting and playing tomorrow. Very good news for the G-Men!

It is officially Graham/Beaver week! Who wins the game? I am going with the G-Men to pull away with a score of something like 49-35
-
As we get closer to next Friday the more worried I become about this game. Everyone knows that Graham has the talent to do big things this year but I have seem some of the best football teams Graham has to offer lose to mediocre Bluefield teams. If Graham can keep their heads on straight and stay confident but not over confident, I believe they win by 10-14. If they come into the game acting like it will be a cake walk like last year, Bluefield has the potential and athletes to upset Graham. No matter how much better Graham is than Bluefield, Graham is always the underdog and Bluefield will be looking for revenge.
-
Can anyone confirm if Graham scrimmaged today and if so how they looked?
-
I can't remember the last time Bluefield wasn't in the 50-60 range. 48 seems about right for the G-Men, usually we have 40-50.
