Yes JI Burton is definitely overlooked. But im sure they dont mind that. Their only loss came to the current top team in 2A. 1A West and 2A West should have a fun post season!

I knew what you meant, and yes Radford, Galax, and GW could meet up again. Both Galax and GW have improved since they played Radford at the start so it would make for a heck of a game

Id say they could put up 42 before starters are pulled. Thats why i have a lot of respect for that Giles program. Their coach hates shutting out opponents, which is why Giles doesnt ever have many shutouts. He gets a comfortable lead then puts back ups/jv in.

This is definitely the game of the week. Im sure that Richlands, Glenvar, and Union fans will all be checking for the in-game scores come Friday night. This is a game that could completely change up the top 4. With the exception of Okeechobee, Amhearst has lost to some quality teams against undefeated Salem and Jefferson Forest. Appomattox has a couple close quality wins over Buckingham and Rustburg. Im saying Appomattox 42 Amhearst 35. What are y'alls thoughts?

Giles should beat Auburn by atleast 4 touchdowns. That Nelson kid is a brute, but hes definitely not the best rb Giles has seen this season. If Auburn had any type of passing game then the game might get interesting but you wont beat Giles by trying to run up the middle all night. They dont have the biggest line but them boys are quick and get after the ball.

Hats off to this young man for putting up numbers like that against an unbeaten team. I know it is kinda hard to get in the spotlight for Richlands with having one of, if not the best quarterbacks around.

Fellas lets not argue about what happened years ago. Its over and done with, Lets focus on the next 6 weeks. probably the most exciting post season that 2A will ever have. No need to bad mouth each other, especially over something that is way in the past. Lets focus on the present and the future for these great football teams. When Powell Valley was around, yes I heard many negative things about that program but I see Union as complete opposite. They have a good coach, good team, and a lot of class. Giles has a good coach, good team, and a lot of class. Would love to see these 2 teams meet up. Instead of arguing and getting hot headed, we should be getting excited for whats to come!

I dont think that could happen though because Giles would face Glenvar in round 2 and Richlands/Union would happen week 3

if they do get 16 seed it looks like they will have a rematch with Union. I think that game was only decided by a touchdown. Probably will be the hardest 1st round game a #1 seed team could play

Like Giles and Glenvar last year. However, i feel like Union/Richlands rematch would be similar to their first game. When Giles and Glenvar played regular season last year Giles dominated. They felt like they didnt need to make any adjustments and when they playoffs came about they were looking past Glenvar, wondering which East was coming to town the next week. Union and Richlands will both make adjustments because that game couldve went either way. If they do meet up, I will definitely be there, along with most of swva!

I think that Grant will play some but not a full game. They may rotate him in every other series. It does take a toll on a player when they have to sit out a couple of games then are expected to come back and play a full game. I would play him about 60% tomorrow, and maybe 40% next week

Yes I remember hearing about that and I know a lot of Giles fans were mad. I dont see why PV didnt just run for it on 4th. Yes, it wouldve been a turnover on downs but they had the game won. I can kinda understand why Giles fans, coaches were wanting revenge. But hey, its football. If your defense lays down then the offense will keep scoring until the clock hits 0.

From what I hear this years team is better than the past 3 years which they went to state all 3 years so it will be any teams toughest challenge

I agree, i think that this year Essex is on a different level than the other 1A schools maybe with the exception of Riverheads. I would love to see GW or Radford take it all

I remember that. I think that Giles smacked them back in the mouth in 06. But thats the key to defending the single wing is to just read your keys. 95% of the time they have a pulling guard that will take you right to the ball. But even at reading your keys if you arent physical with them they will run right over you
