THS offers the options and opportunities, getting the kids to come out is the issue. I understand with other sports going on some may concentrate on that area but there are always opportunities to extend conditioning and lifting. It's not just seasonal, I know coaches that will stay behind and supervise and make sure they complete sessions. Again, this is one of the areas what parents don't see.
Whoever it is, they need to be able to help grow the underclassmen that are there and the youth coming up. I believe there are currently seven upcoming seniors for next year which all had played this season.
The carousel has to stop at some point, no more rides. The foundation has to be set and built on trust and support, support from parents, kids, and the community. Do I want it back like in 1986, sure but everyone has to be involved. It has gotten to the point where "I don't have a kid on the team so I have no need to participate" or "let someone else take care of it" attitude. People in all categories of the school sports programs need to volunteer their time and see how much is involved, it's more than one night a month or three months out of the year. In my opinion I think that's a major problem for Tazewell football, people want a quick fix overnight and it's not going to happen. My two cents.
Been to a few of Tazewell's games. They had their act together, good combination of size and speed. Looking forward to watching these guys as they move up.
Tazewell guy, new to the group and long time reader. Enjoy reading all of the conversations that involve separate schools and districts. Looking forward to the 2016 season.
