Another autopilot game for Richlands. Here's a good question. Does anyone believe Richlands will beat Graham two more times at Graham? they got them at Graham 2/10/17 and more than likely again at Graham for the SEC tournament hosted by Graham this year.

The last two years it has been SE vs CM I am not sure prior to that??

I commend Union for going to Wise. In the long run it will help them, if things stay the course they will more than likely have to play a regional road game at Richlands. I agree with GoBearsGo not an issue and they will know what it feels like to travel for a huge game. Good move whomever made it.

I would like to see Richlands stay the course with 5 in 5 out that way you can tell who is going to have a good game and who is not. The 8 man rotation worked at Graham last year but not at Gate City for the Regional game, all Richlands could do was compete for one half, Gate city came out and destroyed them the second half. I'm afraid like last year those two players or any Richlands player kept on the floor the entire game will be in shock when expected to play the entire game. Graham is so young, one senior and a court full of freshman, sophomores and juniors and Richlands struggled 77-71. Gate City and Union are different animals, I don't think you can even compare Graham to them given the fact that this is a rebuilding year for Graham. You don't want to keep your hot hand on the bench.

Union has really improved. Not so sure about Richlands. Richlands plays everyone the same way every game. 5 in 5 out; so there is nothing new they can throw at a team other than letting one of the groups stay in for more than 3 minutes. Richlands last two games were really subpar, beating Virginia High by only 12 and Twin valley by only 11.

I know Graham plays Richlands again on Feb. 10th at Graham. How is the conference decided in C-39 is it by a tournament and if so is it likely that Graham and Richlands see each other a 3rd time for a conference championship? Last question, I saw some say that the first game was the only game that counted, did they mean for seeding or home court play? Anyone?

I don't know if this is good news or bad news but the radio guy was surprised that Richlands did compete for the opening tip last night against Lebanon. They lost it then got a steal and drove for a layup and scored. I guess you can't teach an old dog new tricks!

I'm thinking they will split also. Why I favor Richlands so much in this first one is because they have been home and will be rested. Graham has had a stretch of away games and will be tired. Both teams rested I like Graham strictly because of Carlock and Grahams improvement. To me Richlands seems to have went a touch backwards since the Virginia High tournament. I kinda disagreed with Gman earlier in the season but I have to admit he was right , I think the soft schedule will bite Richlands in the end.

Back on 1/5 when this ball game was called off for bad weather I think Richland would have hammered Graham by at least 30. 21 days or 3 weeks later will bring us to 1/26 where I predict Richland still wins by 9 to 15. Richland 75 Graham 63

I am still not sold on this Richlands team yet, and not because they don't have great skill and athletes they for sure have the skill and the athletes. It is because of the direction the team is led. Just because you put up great numbers against Pilgrims Knob I'm not buying in yet. That being said, do this against a team that can play defense such as Graham and I will buy in. I personally don't think the kids have the leadership to finish in the big games to come for them. We shall see.

A lot of skill and fundamental coaches don't like the dunk. I think the three point shot is more dangerous to a team than the dunk. A lot of times we see and hear the phrase, "depends on which team shows up.". If a team is hitting the three they can easily throw in 90 points a game but if they are off they struggle to score 60. The pass, dribble, box out and post up has taken a back seat to the dunk and the three. Sad thing is teams are playing basketball the way people like to see basketball played which is by the three and the dunk instead of the boring basic fundamentals.
